Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: A holiday in Jersey is not complete without a visit to Jersey War Tunnels to learn about and experience one of the most difficult periods in the Island’s history. The story of the German Occupation of Jersey is as compelling as it is strange to think that this small area of Britain was Occupied by the Nazis and forced to fly the Swastika for five dark years. The Jersey War Tunnels are no ordinary museum, they are an unforgettable experience. Dug deep into the hillside within St Peter’s Valley, the Tunnels were originally intended to be a barracks and ammunition store for the occupying forces. Today they tell the story of the Occupation, looking at how all sides coped under such extreme conditions and examining the daily dilemmas that were faced by island residents and the authorities, whether Jersey, British or German.Outside the Tunnels, you can enjoy quiet moments in the Garden of Reflection or a woodland walk along the historic War Trail. Refresh yourself in the Pantry Cafe or enjoy the shop and craft activities in LoveBird Too.

Easy to reach by bus including one of the "Explorer" bus routes. The lay out is straightforward to navigate and the exhibits informative .We visited in June 2012 and it was cool underground so best to take a sweater.Busy but not over crowded

Amazingly, virtually unchanged. Though some parts have been diversified to be tourist friendly. Very educational and interesting. Some people may find some areas a little claustrophobic but don't let this deter you. Nice cafe and lovely gift shops (quite expensive, but everything in Jersey seemed to be). Gives a very realistic portrayal of occupied Jersey. A must see1

Brilliant day out, the displays were fascinating and we got loads of pictures. In the little restaurant bit, they had computers you can use for Internet, outside was pleasent. The tunnel was so good though, interesting and amazing. If your in Jersey, VISIT HERE. Even if your not interested in War, go anyway I was like that and then i went and now i love it, if was in jersey would go again :)

Think this attraction is for older people young children would probably be bored unless they had been told of the relevance.
