Upon entering my room, I found a hotel welcome stating "The Appletree is not a magnificent hotel. But we offer clean rooms and a smile." I chuckled as I think there may have been a little loss in translation. They were right - it wasn't magnificent, but it was perfectly fine. The small room was very clean and comfortable. The woman at the reception desk could not have been more friendly and helpful. They served a simple continental breakfast in the lobby. While I was only there one night, the Appletree will definitely have my business on my next trip to Pohang. There was a lot of adjacent road construction, so it was a bit tricky finding the hotel - but it was not a detractor.
