“An angel for your tongue!”

We ate and slept in hotel/ restaurant la favorita, apricale, near ventimillia! In a rustique, fairy tale like atmosphere we enjoyed the food in la favorita so much! Local delicatesses like fungi and zabaglionne with a sort of cookdough, was so delicious! Also the ravioli filled with herbs was homemade! The meat we had was very soft and tender, it all was hime made and prepaired andwith sentiment. In the environnement of the mountains, eating honest delicious food , we really felt on holiday! Thank you so much maria theresa! Love from janus and joke from the nethwrlands

Second visit to La Favorita and second excellent meal, as expected. Personal and professional service without being too formal, or too casual. Excellent value as well. Well worth a visit - it's a wonderful village and landscape as well ...

My husband and daughter treated me to a trip to cote d'azure for my birthday. After a busy social weekend with friends in Nice and Antibes, we drove to the beautiful Italian village of Apricale and lunch at La Favorita. The drive was great but lunch was FABULOUS. It was Monday so it was quiet and the owner was most hospitable and the food was perfect. Mushrooms jumping in the pan melted in your mouth! Raviolis of wild herbs, made that morning were exquisite, and the charcuterie was adjust right. This is one of the nicest lunches I've ever had, and I'm a foodie from New York. Happy Birthday to me! And thanks to Tom Catalano for recommending this special place.

We went to this hotel mainly to experience the food in it's restaurant and thought it best to spend the night rather than drive back to the coast: a good idea since there are some switchback roads that would be a bit of a challenge after a dinner with wine. I will review the restaurant separately. The hotel was clean and the room large enough, though the decor was a throwback to the 1970s, still it is in good condition. I haven't seen a sitz-bath in an Italian hotel since I skied in Cervinia in 1982, so the bathing facilities here are vaguely familiar but call for a careful hold while stepping in: the little "tub" which is on two levels. It would be easy to fall if caught unawares. However the water pressure is excellent and there is plenty of hot water. We were greeted kindly and given help carrying our luggage up the one set of stairs to the room. Wobbly walkers: fairly steep driveway to walk down to the reception and restaurant, then one flight up to the bedrooms. I would rate the steepness a 5 out of 10 (ten being unmanageable). We didn't hear it at night, but the hotel is above a big curve and drivers tend to beep their horn in warning, and it can be heard in the hotel. We had a TV with local channels.
I probably wouldn't seek out La Favorita again: it wasn't what I expected but it wasn't bad, either. I think the room price for value was poor. Earlier we had a wonderful hotel and meal in Finale Ligure at the Albergo Rosita (down the coast towards Genoa) that was much better for the same price (80 EU per night). La Favorita's reputation exceeds its reality.

The owner is a really nice woman, but it was a little bit disappointing because there was not enough food for the price. The quality was fine but we suggest to not take the wine of the house, it was not good at all.
