Gratifyingly the friend who I was staying with arrived back at The Library late one afternoon sharing taxi with two other people who were staying somewhere else - and as she stepped out of the taxi she turned to look back at her fellow passengers who were so dumbstruck with awe at this place that they couldn't speak! This place won't be to everyone's taste but as a cool retreat from the grim ghastliness of downtown Chaweng The Library excels on almost every level. Sensational rooms. A beautiful beachfront location. Engagingly charming service. Great cocktails. Beautiful people. A gorgeous sunny shaded terrace, a dramatic library, cool sculptures everywhere and a startling pool. Just perfect for a short break on Samui. Nearly (but not quite) Aman quality. It's not faultless; they offer a handful of vouchers for packaged stays for example for free afternoon tea, free cocktails and so on and if you suddenly produce your voucher they present a dramatically slimmed down unremarkable version of what is otherwise a very enticing menu. Bad form and unnecessary at these rates. And whoever heard of afternoon tea finishing at 3pm? Having said that the afternoon tea is triumphant an amazing range of exquisite little offerings that just goes on and on and on! But those small quibbles aside The Library deserves all the accolades it gets, it is a breath of cool fresh air in an unremarkable stretch of town, Samui's planning authorities need to think long and hard about this section of Chaweng and do something dramatic to lift the neighbourhood, but that aside The Library is a dream of a resort.

Great place to be in Samui. Very private and all the staffs r very friendly and on point. Attention to details really does make the place even better. They also offer the library where you could rent books, DVDs which I found is a really cool concept and a really nice touch.

This hotel is better than it looks like on the different booking website. Each details have been studied. The personel is looking after you all day long.
The hotel will soon open a bar on the main street and we look forward to go back there.

Room Tip: The suite are really nice and worth the extra money.

Pros:
- Design. The reason you want to go to this place. Member of the design hotels.
- Pool+lounge music. Absolutely one of a kind.
- Service/staff. They remember your name, what you ordered for breakfast, what drinks you like, simply amazing. Thai hospitality at its best.
- Location. Walking distance from tons of bars and restaurants, still very private boutique resort.
- Rooms. I would recommend staying at the studio which is just as good or even better than the rooms on the 1st floor + has a balcony. All rooms very spacious.
- Sunbeds/pillows. Way comfortable.
- The whole library concept is worked out very well.

Cons:
- No private beach
- The pool is attracting a lot of people from outside the hotel to take pictures etc. which is quite annoying especially since access to the premises is for hotel guests only. Can't really blame the hotel though since they try hard keeping unwanted guests off the premises.

I was there for couple of years but it was the unforgettable travel for me. First I arrived I gotto see the Red Pool because it is the signature of the hotel. The atmosphere was great, full of trees. Full of books and DVDs that you can borrow from the library.

Their room is large also the bath room with separate bath tub and shower room. There is a Mac in room with complimentary wifi / LAN internet.

In the night time you can walk around to find food and drinks.

In the morning, they serve buffet breakfast by order to staff. There are various menus to choose also Thai and International breakfast
