We spent 10 days @ The Briza Beach Resort and really enjoyed our time here. The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions before and during our stay.
Because we were two couples travelling together we booked the two bedroom villa with plunge pool. The villa was on the upper floor and had two ensuite bathrooms, a large terrace between the two bedrooms and a private pool to hang out, relax and having some Thai beer. The beds were comfy but a little too hard for my taste. Our friends found them just perfect. The shower was big enough to shower together and the master bedroom even had a bathtub (we didn’t use it though with having 38 degrees during the days and 26 degrees at night). We had a fridge in each of the bedrooms with an abolutely affordable beverage stock that was almost at the same price level as at the 7Eleven supermarket 5 min from the hotel. The whole hotel area is a little older but the maintenance staff takes great efforts of keeping everything in shape. The trees and flowers are lovely.
The Briza Beach Resort is located at the (much calmer) end of Chaweng beach and we loved it to spend time at the beach, take a beach walk to the beach bars & restaurants nearby. Breakfast at The Briza was also amazing. Fresh fruits, joghurt, juice, egg variations (scrambled, fried, boiled and pouched eggs), rice, noodles, salads, fried vegetables, toast, pancakes - we loved it. Did I mention the views during breakfast? We could see the blue ocean while sipping our coffee.
To get to the busier part of Chaweng and into the nightlife we either took a walk at the beach (appr. 20 min) or took a tuk tuk car infront of the hotel (50 THB each way per person = 1,40€).
When you visit Koh Samui you have to go to Lamai Beach for one day. The beach is also lovely and the water a little more refreshing than in Chaweng. A must-see is also Big Buddah beach and the nearby temples, the night market in Bophut / Fishermans Village and a boat trip to Koh Phangan.
I would not recommend to book a scooter when you‘re inexperienced. Chaweng and its traffic is just crazy with almost no traffic rules. Rent a car at the airport or simply take a tuk tuk car. It’s safer!
The people here in Thailand were so friendly, always smiling and simply great hosts. That‘s what we will miss the most.
A big thank you to The Briza Beach Resort team for making our vacations so special. We can recommend the hotel to everyone seeking relaxed, calm holidays just minutes from the nightlife on the beautiful island of Koh Samui!
