Our family thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Baan Chaweng. We had interleading rooms in the Superior Building and were pleasantly surprised by the rooms. The bathroom was spacious with a nice big shower. Having read reviews about possible noise from fireworks, music and overhead planes, I had warned the family what to expect. It did not bother us at all. The air traffic is infrequent and we seldom were disturbed by loud music from the Ark Bar. The breakfast had everything we enjoy eating and despite the hotel being quite full, there were seldom queues. The staff were all very friendly. We never struggled to get loungers when we wanted them. This hotel is brilliantly situated on a beautiful part of the beach and we found it brilliant for people-watching. The swimming pool was also a bit bigger than I had expected based on the photographs. We moved to another part of Koh Samui (Tongsai) for the second part of our holiday and our whole family missed Baan Chaweng very much. We will definitely book here again when we return - and this time for our whole stay. The children (11 and 14) loved being so close to the markets, shopping on the beach and watching the jetski action.

With a family of 6 and a need for inter-connecting rooms, our choices were limited for our holiday in Koh Samui. This hotel was great, from pick up at airport to check out. Our rooms were fairly basic but clean and balcony area was lovely, bed firm and comfy. Breakfast was good, nothing like looking over the beach on a beautiful morning in Koh Samui while eating breakfast. We ate in the restaurant on the beach a couple of nights as food and drink prices were pretty good, food was lovely too . The hotel is in a great area to just stroll out and shop and be amongst things but was quiet and tranquil in our rooms, although we did hear fireworks often. The 3 yr old didn't wake so that was fine :) Staff were great. Only negatives of our stay is no free wifi and pool lounger hoggers..people who think its ok to leave towels on loungers in the morning and return in the afternoon to their so called 'booked' loungers, oh that was frustrating but probably hard for the hotel to control. I would stay here again.

After three weeks of travelling in Thailand, we spend our final night on Ko Samui after deciding to leave Ko Phangan which was extremely quiet and not as nice at all as we had hoped. Baan Chaweng has a great location right in the centre of Chaweng beach which is touristy yes but a very beautiful beach. The hotel itself was lovely, very nice lobby area, lovely staff and really good breakfast. The reason for the average review was the quality of the bungalows. We stayed in the superior bungalow. The bed was very comfy but the room was really quite basic. Not as nice as other places we stayed for less money. No mosquito net which was disappointing as we spent some time before we could sleep chasing mosquitos so catch them to prevent being eaten alive in our sleep. Also the walls in the room were very dirty which really is quite bad. Otherwise though the complex is very pretty, just off the beach and has a very nice swimming pool. Lots of children in the pool on the day we were there so not that peaceful if you are travelling alone or as a group of adults

This resort is right on Chaweng beach it’s nestled nicely in between bustling hotspots and is nice and central to everything. There are places to go out at night in both directions but this part of the beach remains quiet after the restaurant has shut so you don’t have to worry about dealing with any feral drunkards cutting through the property at night time. It is central on the main road running along Chaweng beach so there is plenty of shopping to do right outside your door way. They do massages on the beach and cocktails (or their yummy coconut milkshakes) and food are brought to your deck chair. There’s a rope (on the sand) which keeps the hawkers at bay. Food at the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced and breakfast was fine. We loved it so much we came back to stay in the same holiday (after an unfortunate decision to leave Chaweng Beach! God knows why, this place is paradise!!) There’s a pool but we didn’t use it the sea is right there and is definitely swimmable with calm warm and surprisingly clean waters. I would definitely recommend :)

Room Tip: We stayed in the cheapest room and it was clean and suited our needs. It was on the ground floor and I guess if you were upstairs there would be a bit more privacy out the front from the balcony.
