A fantastic resort with that real tropical resort feel. Plenty of loungers by pool and more on beach. Rooms, although dark are very roomy with a very large bathroom. Service amazing.
On the negative, breakfast very average and really bad lighting over bathroom mirror.
I would definitely stay at Kandaburi again as the overall feel of the resort outweighs any negatives.
Really great location and our favorite restaurant on beach was Your Place Restaurant. Wonderful service any time and the green curry giant prawns so good I had three times. They will reserve a table on waters edge if requested.

Room Tip: Bottom floor near pool.

Went on August with my wife and two kids and we had best time!
The hotel is lovely, clean and very big rooms, great breakfast but the highlight is the pool.
Very large pool with jets in few areas. Spent lot of time there.

The location is ideal: not too crowded, not too isolated.
Beach is great!

Definitely come back and recommend.

Room Tip: Beach side room.

We stayed at Kandaburi for 9 nights in August in a hillside room, during our stay we found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The location was far enough away from Chaweng town centre to be away from the noise but also close enough to walk if you wanted (15 min walk), only a 100bht tuk-tuk ride to town. We only ate here one night and chose to stroll along the beach or to town for many dining choices. Both pools we great, rooms were clean and tidy
Would definitely stay here again

Stayed here for 2 nights on a recent trip to Thailand. We stayed in a hillside room as this was cheaper and although we had to walk across the road this wasn't a problem for us. We had a corner room which was huge and very clean with a great bathroom.

We used both pools - the hillside pool is much quieter and very nice but we enjoyed the beach pool too. The beach was quite busy and we struggled to get a sun lounger there but never any problems by the pool. The sea was very shallow and you could walk out a long way before it started to get deep.

We walked along the beach in the evening to find restaurants to eat in and also headed into Chaweng one evening for a drink. It was very busy but good for a stroll around the shops!

We enjoyed our stay at the Kandaburi and hope to return one day!

I am being completely honest in my review. We were under the idea from our travel agent that we would be staying at a hotel that was situated on a beautiful beach, with pristine waters. This was not at all the case. Chaweng beach is dirty, crowded, smelly, overpopulated and the water is slimy and murky. If it is a tropical get away you are looking for, I would suggest looking at other nicer beaches in Koh Samui. The Kandaburi was a nice hotel and the staff were friendly, but the location was a major turn off. The rooms are spacious and the pools are nice. Likewise the buffet was great.

Room Tip: The mountain view rooms are very spacious, quite a walk from the beach though.
