First impressions, beautiful resort, with an upgrade to a family suite on the ocean side (room # 126). Suite is very spacious but looking tired. There was a musty and dank smell to the suite. On our last night, the smell was so bad I contacted Reception who sent House Cleaning who provided 3 oil burners to try to mask the smell, however it didn't mask the smell. (It smelt like something dead decomposing wafting through the vents, so had no air cond for our last night) and as there are no fly screens on the windows or a fly screen door, slept in a hot and stuffy room. I tried to communicate all of this to Housekeeping, but maybe because of the language barrier, she didn't quite understand? When we checked out and raised this with Reception, we received an apology and 500 thb discount (free airline transfer to airport) woopy do!

The suite would benefit from fly screens on the windows and fly screen slide doors to the balcony to allow fresh air into the rooms.

The big King size bed is super hard.

Unfortunately our vacation was also dampened by gastro. It hit each member like a domino effect, so 6 days out of 10 someone was sick. This made it hard to explore the island.

The location is approx a 2km walk to Chaweng if you walk up the main road, however, I would suggest strolling along the beach to get to the main part of Chaweng (beautiful scenic route along the beach past other resorts) and don't have to dodge cars and smelly drains along the road.

Lovely pools on both sides and happy hours daily (11am to 1pm & 3pm to 5pm)

Tip: Along the beach (about a 2 minute walk) there is a lovely restaurant called "My Place" great food and atmosphere. My kids loved the food and the locals!

Tip #2: Bring some Raspberry cordial (it was the only thing we could drink when we were sick with gastro)

Room Tip: The family suite we stayed in (room # 126) had a terrible odour which was omitted from the air condi...

This is a truely beautiful resort with everything you need to relax and enjoy the serenity of Thailand, it's people and food. Close enough to many restaurants we enjoyed the happy hours, the breakfasts on the beach and the sunset dinners. The bathrooms with their outdoor feel and spa is an excellent relax at the end of a busy day of shopping and site seeing.

Room Tip: the rooms are all good, but the appt style rooms are excellent

Amazing location not to close to all the craziness of the town. Rooms very clean, bathroom was massive and decorated to a high standard. We were put up the hill, don't listen to what people say its not far and no effort to get to the beach. Pool area was always being cleaned and food was really nice. I would defiantly recommend walking along the beach to restaurants ("your place" was our favorite and very reasonable). Overall the hotel is well worth a visit.

Great value hotel! We stayed for 10 nights in a hillside room. The room was HUGE and the bathroom was amazing!
It is just the right distance out of town, you're close enough to walk into Chaweng but not right on top of everything. In the evenings we walked into town for dinner - there are some great beach restaurants set up at night and the markets in Chaweng are open late as well.
The buffet breakfast was good, and happy hour down by the beach was good value. We took scuba diving lessons in the beach front pool and the second pool is conveniently located half way up the hill for a cheeky swim on the way back to the room on those hot days!
The hotel security is a bonus - they are there 24hrs, they stop traffic for you to cross the road, and will organise transport for you anytime. They were lovely!

Room Tip: If staying on the hill side ask for a room lower down - its a hike to the top!

Fantastic rooms and bathrooms...the pool area is perhaps not as pleasant as some of the other nearby hotels and is hard to actually sit on the beach I. Front of the hotel. Staff are very friendly. And again I could have spent the whole holiday in the best bathrooms ever!

Thought the resort was very nice. Transport every day into town. Was lovely to walk along the beach on the hard packed sand. The room was really big, and always kept clean. Breakfast buffet was a good selection. They have a seafood buffet every Tuesday night. Thought a bit expensive, but the food was plentiful and well presented. We had a hillside room, but were upgraded to the beach side.
