Novotel Samui Resort Chaweng Beach Kandaburi
Ranked #30 of 104 Hotels in Chaweng

We have recently returned from this hotel. We stayed in the hillside rooms booked through agoda. The hotel is a 4 star and nothing more. The hillside rooms are a good size but I feel the bathroom should have a door across rather than just a curtain!! The hillside rooms are a little away from the main hotel area and slightly uphill, which wasnt a real problem for us. The breakfast that was served was ok...you could find something for very tastes. The pool in the hillside location was a good size and very quiet but had no drinks facilities. We used the pool near the beach side. However, there were not enough sunbeds in this location for the amount of people wanting to sunbathe here and on the beach. The hotel does have signs up about non reservations of beds - this is not adhered to as a lot of people were getting and putting their towels on and then disappearing for a few hours. The staff in the frangipani restaurant were very slow in serving, however I think that they were understaffed. The massage treatments by the pool were very good. It is quite a hike from this hotel to the main chaweng strip. However tuk tuks are reasonably priced or you can walk along the beach in half an hour. I dont think I would chose to stay at this hotel again if I returned.

Room Tip: choose a beachside room

We have recently stayed at Kandaburi with two other couples, and would go and stay at this place again. Our rooms were a delight, so spacious, clean, smelt lovely I could not fault them. Our breakfast was beautiful as a buffet you had a decent choice of food to pick from. The pool and surroundings were awesome. The staff were always friendly. We were invited to the managers cocktail party the night before we left, I told him (Gill)we stayed longer as it was my husbands birthday that day, what a surprise, he had organized his staff to put a birthday cake together for him. ( thanks Gill for making our stay complete). We've never been to Koh Samui before and it won't be the last. Absolutely love it.

swimming pool- 25 meter length- the best in compering to other hotels in Chaweng cocern to tourists that like to swim
Service- very good
Breakfast- good, there's a place to improve food supplements
Location- only 5-10 minutes pickup truck driving to the central shopping area in Chaweng beach
Beach- beside to the hotel- very comfortable
Room location- recommand to stay in the beachside area and not in the hillside area
Room standard-there's a place to improve include T.V with flat screen
We are a return clients in this hotel and we shall for sure come again to this hotel in our next vacation
Special thanks we want to emphasize to Mr. Somkao Assistant Reservation Manager for his excellent service.

My wife and I as well as 2 friends have just returned fron a stay at the Kandaburi Resort and from the minute we arrived we were impressed with the whole resort. Our rooms were very spacious and well kept including the extremely large barthrooms. Our next stop was to the bar and pool area, we could not believe the views and the tranquility of the place.
The food was probably the best food we have had in any country we have visited, whether it be in the Resort restaurant or the local restaurants.
Lastly the management and staff of the resort were exceptional, all were very friendly and took the time to make sure everything was ok, it was our friends birthdaqy while we were there and they organised a cake for us and did up a special table with the best views in the place for us to dine at.
Considering my wife never wanted to go to Thailand , since our stay at the Kandaburi, she says its the best holiday we have been on and cant wait to go back.;

We booked this hotel before we left Australia and thought that as the hotel was advertised for much higher price than what we would normally pay that we were getting a good deal with stay 3 get 3 for free even with the discount we felt ripped off when we saw the hotel . The reception was old and very faded the welcome drink was just a syrupy sugary drink . The rooms were right on the hill and not close to anything . The rooms were large but very old decor there were white water stains on the furniture and the balcony door had a gap all down the side where Mosquitos could get in . The bathroom was very large but we would have rather had s room that was smaller and more modern . We were hoping the pool would make up for the rest but even the pool was not that nice . Breakfast was more like one you would get in a hotel that is $40 a night not what you would expect in Thailand for a hotel that is over three times that . I'm sure it would not cost much to do a little bit of maintenance even a few new seat covers for the chairs in the restaurant a lick of re staining for the wood around the place . They don't seem to put any $ into making it look good . It is in dire need of a RenoOvation there are much nicer hotels around for less . Next time I will be booking our own hotel not from a travel agent brochure . The hotel looks nice on its website but very different in real life .

My wife and I have just returned from our 3rd stay at Kandaburi Resort and when we arrived we said "It is just like coming home"
The friendly staff on arrival to the smiling faces in the restaurant and bars.
Good range of choices for breakfast including fresh fruit, 3 types of cereal, juices, a full range of salads, many types of fresh bread, eggs 4 ways and both Asian and Western hot selections, even a choice of many types of teas on request, nothing was too much of a problem for the staff.
The beach has the best swimming in clear calm waters and we noticed many guests from resorts further down the beach would come and swim and lay on the sand bars in front of the resort.
The beach traders are a lot of fun but if you are not interested a polite "No" is all it takes and they move on.
We will be returning next year........for sure.
Thanks to all the staff at Kandaburi..
