Buri Rasa Village Samui

My family just came back from Koh Samui, where we've been many times before. We've stayed on different parts of the island and at several different hotels. We decided to try Buri Rasa and we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a great location and even though it's off of the busy street with shops and restaurants (where most of the hotels are located), once you enter the hotel grounds, it's very quiet since the rooms are towards the back, by the beach. The only time it was noisy was at night sometimes, because there is Ark Bar down the beach which plays very loud music at times. But it was never so loud that we couldn't sleep, and it was not every night.
The hotel staff was all incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They took really good care of us, and by the end of the first day, they knew us all by name. Arm and Chart were particularly amazing. They took such an interest in us and really made our stay very special.
The breakfast in the morning is incredible. They serve a beautiful buffet and in addition, they have a full menu of eggs, pancakes, waffles, etc...all delicious.
Lunch food was also always great...they have a full menu of asian and western food.
Rooms were nice...not very big, but you're never in the room anyways. Bathroom is nice and spacious.
One of my only complaints about the hotel was the fact that they don't have a gym. But since it's such a small boutique hotel, it's understandable.
Also, loved the pool. It's so pretty and right next to the beach. It's not huge, so if you plan to swim laps, this isn't the pool for you. But to just relax in, it's perfect.
A couple extra things:
They offer private cooking lessons, which were amazing!
They have books and DVDs to borrow
free internet
a nice little lounge area/library at the front of the hotel with computers
Overall, would definitely return to Buri Rasa. Didn't want to leave!!

If you are looking for boutique accommodation in Chaweng you must stay at Buri Rasa! it is in a fantastic location - lovely end of the beach and a short walk to bars/clubs. There is an abundance of shops and restaurants also within walking distance.

In addition to the location, the hotel/resort is beautiful. The rooms are large and comfortable with all the right amenities. The beds are extremely comfortable, there is fast free wifi in the rooms, and flat screen tvs and dvd players.

The service is second to none! All staff are warm and friendly and they are willing to oblige your every request!

The food is also beautifully presented and tasted fantastic!

We cannot say enough about Buri Rasa. It is truly a fantastic place.

The Buri Rasa is a lovely hotel right on Chaweng beach in the heart of things in Koh Samui.

We stayed for a week in late spetember 2010 and really enjoyed our visit. The rooms are a good size and very well appointed with big 4 poster beds and mozzie nets (an absolute neccesity.

The service at this hotel really is excellent with very friendly staff both front of house and in the bar/restaurant. Particularly excellent was Leo behind the bar who was friendly and always willing to help (and get you another beer). The turn down service was a nice touch with a freshly made treat for you everyday made by the chef.

The food is alos excellent here with a great selection for breakfast as well as some really delicious seafood.

There were a couple of small things but nothing too bad and not really the hotels fault. The mozzies are really bad here so make sure you have the local spray and use it. For a honeymoon it's a great spot being near the bars as well as lots of nice restaurants however with no separtae kidss pool the children were a little annoying but thats life.

All in all this is an ecellent hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

We just returned from an 8 day stay at Buri Rasa in a deluxe room.

Pros: It's a great resort with extremely friendly and attentive staff; tasty breakfast even if eggs easy over was a challenge; even though the resort was full, the pool and beach never felt crowded - always free lounges and umbrellas; the restaurant Betelnut was definitely the best meal we had; amazing beach; decent happy hour - but the staff times seemed slightly variable, ask before you order drinks; Location - close enough to the night life but not too noisy - except Saturday night when the Monkey Bay party was on.

Used the spa and it was certainly relaxing (we woke up to our own snores a couple of times) but I think there may have been better massages out there.

Cons; The rooms were fairly basic, a bit dark and there wasn't enough light in the bathroom, if we'd been paying the advertised rate, I wouldn't say it was fantastic value; Mosquitos - this was enough to make me try another resort, they were everywhere - in the rooms, bathrooms, restaurant, reception, pool bar area. Had to use the mosquito spray as soon as we stepped out of the pool/beach/shower to attempt to avoid the aggravation. We stayed in Samui same time last year and the mosquitos were hardly noticeable. Buri Rasa should definitely try some preventative spraying.

Plenty of eating options, tailoring and excursions available around the hotel - see my jbr.

We are here now & have found a beautiful little place! The pool & beach front are amazing...the noise & service not so good!

The girls at reception are very blunt and not very helpful. The girls at breakfast force a smile at you as you walk in. The guys at the pool were great except for one guy call "Porn". It was our first encounter with him today and after ordering 2 cocktails he asked for the cash straight up 427baht each he said. They only cost 200baht and he said we needed to pay cash as the computer was broken...I said I would fix it up later as we had on other days, when I went up to the bar to sign the other guy printed the docket straight out, no problems!!! Left a very bad feeling (

We booked our trip based on Trip Advisor's rating of the Buri Rasa and were not disappointed. All the staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our holiday. Without exception, they were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were private, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is situated on the beach, which one can get to within a few minutes. The front entrance is right in the hub of Chaweng life, offering a wide choice of eating and shopping experiences. The front desk helped us plan excursions. We can strongly recommend.
