“10 days in Paradise”
Reviewed September 19, 2011

These were truly magic days in the most wonderful and green hotel! Open reception and the atmosphere of some private club welcome you as soon as you enter the hotel. We did enjoy our stay there from the first minutes. Our room was on the first (not ground) floor with balcony. It was comfortable, with good air-conditioning and ceiling fan if you become too cold :) Bathroom provided two types of shower :) - regular one and old Thai style shower (it's big ceramic barrel with cool water). So me and my wife enjoyed our personal showers each :))) Fridge at mini-bar is really mini considering the amount of fruits we wanted to keep in it for evenings :), however is big enough to hold lots of various drinks.
It is 1 min walking to the pool area and to the beach - both are amazing. Pool has hydro-massage (find the secret button for it! :)))) and the beach is one of the cleanest on the whole Chaweng seaside. I was walking back and forth on the sand and telling this for sure.
Try dinner at their restaurant in the evening. It is amazing and very romantic experience!
Staff is very professional and one of the most friendly among other hotels on the Chaweng.
The hotel is really more for couples, solo and seniors since there are no any special facilities for children there, though this doesn't mean you cannot take your children here :) In this case you may consider room with pool. They are clean and nice. Next time will probably take room with pool.
Overall we did enjoyed this hotel and surely will choose it once again.

Room Tip: If you want some sea view - make sure you rent room #28 or #31, though there is a drawback - there i...

Stayed here for 10days in late August / early Sept.

Had a fantastic time. Staff cannot do enough to keep you happy. They supervise children so that couples can eat with their children taken care of.

Breakfasts are fantastic -- a huge buffet in addition to menu choice selection (eggs benedict, pancakes, french toast) which the staff bring out once it's done. The breakfast really is amazing.

We spent most days by the pool or by the beach. The attendants always ensure you are comfortable (bring over free snacks, cold towels). Others have complained about the pool but I thought it was fantastic, although the black covering of the pool / wall do stain swim wear if you sit on the sides (no big deal). The beach is fantastic and nice and quiet, with sunbeds always available.

Our rooms were fantastic. Full size bath as well as shower. We were in a room which was above another (as such) and it was really v lovely. There are only 32 rooms in the property so service is guaranteed to be perfect. Housekeeping visit rooms maybe 4 times a day and everything across the property (gardens, bar, beach, pool - everything) is kept immaculate at all times.

The service really is amazing and a special mention go to Pond, Chart and Mao for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable. Another member of staff cannot be mentioned as the site prevents us from writing rude words - she was a waitress at breakfast with a Thai name which had been shortened to something which unfortunately is blocked from this review site.

My only issues (nothing major)
- we had a couple of geckos in our room during the stay. Once you approach them, they run up to small holes in the ceiling and disappear, plus they eat mosquitos. These are to be expected but in case this is a deal breaker, be warned.
- Mosquitos. There really are v many and we learned that the hotel was about to do its annual extermination just as we were leaving. I was bitten severely even though I had lots of repellant on, but again I guess this can't be helped.
- Jelly fish. There are small (size of 50p coin) jelly-fish in the waters. I was stung (like a pin) a couple of times in the sea as were many other guests but it wasn't a big deal and these ones are not fatal or anything.

Also people complain about the air-con being too powerful. Yes it is powerful, however there is a button to direct airflow upwards or downwards (i.e. not at bed) so this shouldn't put you off coming!

On one of our days there we saw a Thai man checking out the hotel and the breakfast selection. Apparently he was the overall hotel owner. He noted a couple of small issues which the staff rectified immediately -- it it this type of care and attention which is missing from larger establishments and it is clear that this property strives to be the best in everything it does. When the "tone from the top" is perfection then you know that expectations are very high, and that you'll have an unforgettable experience. I've heard that Richard Branson is like this on Virgin Atlantic and this is a case in point.

Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and its restaurant and would like to try its sister property on another Thai island.

Also wireless available across the property.

Room Tip: Book thru hotels and get a refundable rate - check back for lower prices and rebook!

We've just returned from a long weekend staying and can honestly say it was the most relaxing weekend in a lovely resort. Fantastic staff in the Hotel make this place and from beginning to end they were all superb - nothing is a problem. The rooms were lovely and spacious ( helps to get an upgrade ) and you would be very picky if you had something to complain about. Plenty to around Chaweng beach area but easy to venture further afield if needed. - Check out the Spirit house restaurant 5 mins away from the hotel - Just awesome!!!! If you want to chill out and do something or nothing then this is ideal. - we"ll be back for certain.

Room Tip: We opted for the rooms with a dip pool but to be honest no real point as you have a lovely pool and...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights...the resort looks bigger in the website pictures....the rooms are comfortable...however, we did face a big problem with ant attacks!! they were all around the coffee table and on the bedside table!! We complained to house keeping but it didnt seem to fix the problem permanently! It made it difficult to leave any cookies or food items outside...it always had to be refrigerated!!

the breakfast buffet is very good..however, make sure you ask for the menu of extra items that are also part of the buffet but are not out on the spread (maybe for lack of space)! I however, did not appreciate the fact that the waitor named "DIT" decided to pick and choose the guests he wanted to offer the menu to..when it ought to have been made available for all guests!! When I asked for the menu...he chose to just bring me a cup of coffee instead...!! I had to ask again for the menu until he finally gave it to me...and his reluctance was obvious!!

Also, during check out, the oddest thing happened...the lady at the front desk asked if i had taken their laundry bag from the room...I informed them that i had my dirty laundry in it and if they wanted they could have it back (I have never known any hotel to ask for something as petty as a laundry bag!!)...but they chose not to take the bag back..but instead made me sign a document for house-keeping for their record!!!!

The resort also does not have a gym and their pool is very small. The sea view room is a bit of a joke...since u can only see a tiny partial view of the beach amidst the huge trees blocking your view. But the resort is right on the beach and well situated close to various restaurants and pubs!

My Fiance' and I stayed here for 1 night last October whilst we were in Samui. We only stayed in Samui for 1 night before we moved on to Koh Phagnan for the rest of our trip so maybe I'm not in the best position to review this hotel.

Anyway, the room was nicely presented upon our arrival and the staff were extremely friendly but we couldn't help but notice the sheer amount of mosquitoes landing on our bodies. We were then informed that they had an infestation and were planning on fumigating the place the following day. The Hotel itself was lovely (although the pool is tiny) but it was just somewhat spoiled by the amount of mosquitoes in our room. Seems like they have sorted the problem out now going by other people's reviews so don't let this stop you.

Would probably try somewhere else though if we were back in Samui.

From the moment you arrive at this hotel, a feeling of calm descends on you. Although located on a busy street, the only sounds you hear inside the grounds are the birds in the trees. The hotel is indeed a village: a series of Thai style low rise buildings along a winding path of lush tropical gardens leading to beach which is virtually private.
As mentioned in other reviews, this is a small resort and, although full when I was there, it never seemed crowded. The guests were a multi lingual, mostly up-market mixed bunch including gays, and although there were some small children, I think the resort is more for broad minded couples. The beach is the real drawcard. Crystal clear still water against white sand - the classic tropical island setting. You can lounge on the beach during the day and have romantic candle light dinners there at night.
A surprise for me was the very good western style food on offer. I dined there for six out of the seven nights, venturing out only once to "Spirit House" restaurant nearby. Of course, at Buri Rasa there is plenty of good Thai food as well but it is a surprise that both styles are done equally well. The breakfasts were very good, offering everything from dim sum to eggs benedict. And of course the service from all the forever smiling staff was near perfect.
Although there is no in-house gym, a five minute walk to the nearby Centara hotel fitness centre at a cost of 275 baht will satisfy. At Buri Rasa there is a smallish "infinity" swimming pool, but it is somewhat redundant with the calm and warm waters of the gulf of Thailand just steps away.
I have only a few minor criticisms: I liked the ubiquitous and free wifi internet but it was painfully slow a lot of the time; the rooms should be sprayed for mosquitoes daily; the live music delivered nightly while having dinner can be a bit noisy and it is a pity that it only consists of western style songs rather than Thai - a bit incongruous considering this is otherwise a Thai style resort.

Stayed here for 6 days in August. It was during the rainy season but this side of Bangkok was dry and sunny the whole time we were here. This was a relief as we were here purely for rest and relaxation. Didn't do much sight-seeing as this was not the plan for Samui. Fortunately the Buri Rasa is the place for this. Very good breakfast dining with fresh fruits and a la carte choice of cooked breakfast and coffees as desired. The highlight though, as mentioned many times before. From arrival at reception to checking out there is nothing I can find to complain about. We got a free upgraded room with its own pool and secluded garden and welcome message and gifts on the bed. The little gifts and fruit were changed each day. Washing lines put up and wet clothes hung up that was left on the floor etc. etc. I could go on and on. It's already been said.
If you want to relax with the best possible service - look no further. You will only be delighted.
