We stayed at Poppies hotel at the southern end of the Chaweng Beach Road for 8 days in the middle of March.
As this was our first trip to Thailand we decided to eat out a lot to try the local food, but also wanted the occasional European meal and had therefore listed a few restaurants along the beach road that we wanted to try.
One of these was a Greek restaurant, the Olive Tree, which we saw on Tripadvisor and was only a couple of hundred yards away, down a side street at the main entrance to the Mercure Hotel.
We were certainly not disappointed as we had a great meal including starters, mains, a carafe of wine (the best we had during our stay) and a couple of ouzos to finish up with for THB980.
The main menu is limited to around half a dozen dishes, but was authentic and well cooked. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and the chef/owner came out and asked if everything was OK and chatted for a while.
He certainly deserves to do well as it's a great little restaurant and it is one that we would certainly go back to as a pleasant change of diet during a 3-week Thai holiday.
If you like Greek food and are staying in that area you should give it a go!
