We showed up in Chewang, a family of four without reservations, backpacks in tow and hot from a half day trip from Ko Tao. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Chaweng Buri Resort and two rooms which were tiled, cool, clean and large. Each had AC and comfortable beds. I was amazed the rooms were quiet and blocked the noise from Chaweng.
The staff were very helpful as we have found everywhere we go. I liked the carved teak details and the wonderful garden path to the beach. Breakfast is included and we found it had something for everyone including our two Tweens with American tastes new to Thailand . The resort is on the beach with lounge chairs and cold beer.
Try a walk along the beach in the evening strolling by numerous tables of fresh fish for dinner.
If you come to Chaweng looking for new boutique or franchise hotels then I recommend you not stay here. If you like places with character and are clean with old world charm this place is a must.
