I had originally planned to be at the Lotus Friendly Hotel for only four nights. And then I decided to extend my stay in Koh Samui and added three more nights at Lotus Friendly. And then, after a trip to Koh Phangan, I am back at the Lotus Friendly for three more nights. Obviously, I like it here a lot!

It is well located on Chaweng Beach Road, a little removed from the crazy busy center but not so far away that I can't get there if I want to (by walking or taxi). A 7-Eleven is right next door, there's a laundry just across the parking lot, and there are lots of restaurants and nail salons 2nearby. It is directly across the street from a beautiful beach on a protected bay. Literally, a 3-minute walk! Beach chairs and restaurants ring that part of the beach.

There are lots of restaurants close by. The Fi Greek Restaurant located immediately in front of the hotel has great food. I did not choose an included breakfast but they have a nice breakfast buffet if you want it.

The hotel staff are very helpful and welcoming and communicative in English.

All in all, I have liked my stay here a lot and if I come back to Koh Samui, there is no other place I would stay.

If you’re traveling on a budget this is an excellent choice. I was very happy with this choice. The rooms are very clean, are quite big and have all the amenities that you need including 2 beach towels, a drying rack, 2 bath towels, toiletries, cold AC， two bottles of water...everything! I thought breakfast there was a good deal too. The reception is through the Greek restaurant that’s a part of the hotel. When you check in, the staff gives a helpful and brief explanation about the food options that are around and how to get to the beach across the street. They’re in a great location next to all of the fancy hotels and a 7-11. Therefore, they’re on a nice strip of the beach. The guy running the place is also chatty and friendly. The only things that could have been a little bit better were a better paved driveway leading up to my room (not a big deal at all and there are paved routes), a more powerful flush on the toilet, and the tap water coming out in one stream. If it bothered me enough though, I would have called the front desk. There is no cancellation on the booking but there’s also no deposit. Instead the keep your passport which keeps it nice and safe since the room doesn’t have a safe. I forgot to take photos but I enjoyed my stay enough and was happy enough with my choice to write a review about it!
