Smallish modern restaurant, ambient lighting playing some cool background music setups up the perfect atmosphere for what awaits. The food at the larder is sublime .. We tried various starters and was not disappointed the signature dish duck egg Scott egg with asparagus was amazing.

The staff are attentive, cocktails are amazing best on the island

“Everything TIPP -TOPP, Try this!!!”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

Find this through Trip Advisor and wanted to Cheek it out. We had booked a table outside and was happy with that. At arrivel I looked around me and saw only happy and smily people, promising :-) Our drinks was very good i had my best harvey wallbanger at this place. Choosed a baby back lamb rack as starter and it was very soft and tasty, gave me memories back to a fantastic Suisse resturant in Park City, Utah, Adolph's. Main course was sebass, my wife had white fish both vey very good, joined with a good NZ white wine with Sauvigone blanc grape. Finally we ended up with cheese and choccolatemoose. Our best meal in samui this time, so far.

“Always fantastic”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

Koh Samui is blessed with a number of great restaurants offering world class dining, and in my opinion The Larder is not only the best but also offers the best value.
The food is always excellent, and the service and atmosphere (think cool bistro) is nigh on perfect.
Two or three courses and a couple of quirky cocktails will definitely not break the bank. In fact compared with what you'll pay elsewhere it's an absolute bargain.

“You must try The Larder”
Reviewed August 8, 2014

Saw the reviews on trip advisor and we thought we would visit. We were not let down either it was sublime. The food we ordered was cooked to perfection. It's not the cheapest of restaurants however I'm a firm believer of you get what you pay for. The wine is pretty expensive for the amount you receive.
One of the best on Koh Samui we will be returning again and would highly recommend you to do the same.

“Lovely experience ”
Reviewed August 7, 2014 via mobile

Ate lunch here on the day we were leaving Koh Samui and found it to be very good. We went as soon as it opened at midday so were the only ones in the restaurant at that time and for the duration of our meal.

Location was on the outskirts of Chaweng (up a hill from our hotel which was the Amari Palm Reef) surrounded by tour operators, little cafés etc.

The female member of staff that was working was friendly but not overly attentive and we didn't see much of her throughout our meal.

Surroundings were very nice with a lot of wood. However the big windows and good lighting ensured that it was not dark. There was also an outdoor patio area with seating for those wanting to sit outside the restaurant.

It was expensive by Chaweng standards and was similar to what would be paid at restaurants in the UK. However was very good and a nice change from the amount of Thai food we had eaten over a 3 week period. I had fish (snow fish) with chunky chips and tartare sauce which was very nicely presented and my travelling companion had an egg frittata style dish with ham served in a pan.
We were desperate to try the restaurant's famous chocolate soufflé but by the time we'd eaten our mains it was nearly time for our transfer to the airport which was a shame. Maybe someday...!

I would recommend this restaurant to other travellers visiting Chaweng.
