Don't miss it I can say. All their special menus are fabulous with fantastic food quality. Owner is very kindness with personal services. The atmosphere of the restaurant is extravagant.

Went there for dinner tonight, very disappointed!! We ordered a steak, the steak was good but so salty that you could taste the meat. Then we ordered the risotto, and it was totally bland, no seasoning at all. They probably put all the salt for the risotto in the steak?! Plus, they offered to make a plate of speghetti for our child, a very very small plate... And in the end they tried to charge 250b for a plate of plain speghetti smaller than the size of my palm. Serive was super slow and when we asked for our food, they turned very unfriendly... NOT recommended at all!!!

Ate the wagyu and the goat cheese salad, all was mediocre. I've tasted way these products many times and this was the first time I had a mediocre feeling about it. I mean its not that bad, but for this price.. Way too expensive..

the food is very modern and chic whilst avoiding nouveau minimalism. The flavours showed the chefs sourcing of organic and super fresh ingredients. The menu is full of all the comfort foods that is so appealing when traveling Asia. Roasts, bloody Maries, hand cut potato chips, foie gras, fresh oysters and a value priced superb wine list.
I am a repeat visitor to The Larder and look forward to the next visit.

Like many other TA reviewers have mentioned, I had real high expectations for the larder. Biggest complaint would be that the food was tasty but not exceptional, making the price and atmosphere not worth the experience. The biggest surprise was trying to get a reservation since it looked from the website and reviews that it was recommended. I was told via email that the larder was all booked for the night. Decided to just go early on Saturday night since it was our only option before leaving koh samui. Our table was one of only two occupied all night till 8pm. The restaurant seemed maybe half full by the time we left at 8:30.

Service was excellent all night, but there was no one else there so would expect nothing else. The drinks, dessert and appetizer were all pretty good. The best Bloody Mary I've had in Thailand, and the drink is deconstructed with great presentation. We had two peanut butter martinis as well, which were delicious. The goats milk cheese was also great, really good appetizer. But both of our entrees were just fair: a beef chili topped with sour cream and the duck two ways. Dessert was quite good, the rhubarb tart with vanilla bean ice cream. Also had a strong and tasty Long Island.

Nothing wrong with the restaurant and everything we ordered was at least average to much better. But whole meal was over $120, no beach view and not great atmosphere, especially with no one there and having been told the restaurant was booked for the evening. Expectations plus price made this an average meal on koh samui.
