“Fantastic!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

I stayed here in early December and loved everything about this place! I have traveled to Thailand 4 times and this hotel is by far the best i have stayed in. Its location is fantastic as it is only a short walk to shops, markets and amazing restaurants!
Although there was some construction when we were at the hotel this didn't bother us as the workers were friendly. We did have a power blackout numerous times but this was not the hotels fault, the surrounding islands had power problems. The hotel did a fantastic job of accommodating for it's guest at this time, when restaurants surrounding the hotel were closed and could not serve food.
Our amazing rooms had a beautiful big bathroom, very luxurious!
We stayed in the premier suites located at the right of the grounds, if facing the beach. Would defiantly recommend!
Family stayed in the villas located in the middle of the hotel, closest to the beach, and were even more amazing!
The service was good and all the staff very friendly. Would recommend to families and groups. Great stay!

Room Tip: Premier or Spa Villa Suites!

We have only stayed one night, so this may be a bit harsh, especially after coming from an amazing resort at Lamai beach (Silavadee), but the lack of free internet is a HUGE issue. They charge 299 baht per day which is extortionate. It's inconvenient not being able to research activities or keep in touch with home. The room is lovely and the spa looks great, although there is no conditioner, shower caps or cotton buds.
The setting is beautiful and the staff very friendly. The small things make a big difference especially when there are so many places to stay here, if we hadn't already paid we would look at moving.

Arrived early and was greeted by a friendly receptionist who made us feel welcome.
Check-in was a breeze,we left our bags and wondered around this beautiful resort until it was time to go to our room.
Upon our arrival back we were greeted with we had a free up-grade to a premier room.Wow how lucky we were. This room was beautiful with a lovely bathroom with a spa-bath (heaven). Also a flat screen tv and dvd player. Two double beds and plenty of space.Loved it.Thank-you.
The 2 pools were beautiful we mainly used the one near the beach.
Breakfast was plentiful.
This is my 4th time in Thailand but my first trip to Koh Samui.I would go back in a heart beat.
We found it very relaxing.
Thank-you once again to the beautiful staff at Chaweng Regent Beach Resort.

I have just come back from a holiday in Koh Samui as my brother got married their. Location on the Resort was fantastic but service and food was very disappointing. There English was terrible, I understand we are in an Asian country but when they rely on tourist to keep their economy going they should be able to understand. I didn't find the food to be the freshest besides one night we had the buffet BBQ and that was Nice. There were tiles coming off in the pool. When we checked in we were early and told us that they gave us an upgrade for the night as our original room wasn't ready. I'm pretty sure our upgrade was a down grade, the room was absolute Cr*p. lastly the Resort was a third booked out due to my brothers wedding and the service they got as a newly wed couple/bride and groom was appalling. So many things went wrong for them and continuously complain and nothing got down however there friends got mucked around and got given free dinners, upgrades etc,,, and to top it off they locked the bride and groom out of there room on there wedding night so they had to walk all the way back to reception to ask someone to let them in (just what u want to do on your wedding night)My sister in law is a travel agent and makes over 100 bookings there a year but she said she will most definantly not recommend people there anymore. Chaweng great location but that's about it. Needs to close down for 6 month and revamp it all.

Dear Esomerfield,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am very sorry to hear of your disappointment and unsatisfactory experience at Chaweng Regent Beach Resort. As customer service remains our top priority, feedback such as yours enables us to improve our service, facilities and therefore we are very grateful to you for bringing the issue to our attention.

On behalf of the management, please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused to you and your party, please be advised that your experience in no way reflects our dedication to our valued guests.

Kindly allow me to clarify one point that was slightly askew: the bride and groom were not locked out of their room. Sadly, they misplaced the key and the procedure implemented to receive another key is for our guests' own safety. The same procedure is standard in resorts and hotels around the world.

That being said, I would also take this opportunity to personally thank you for your patronage - I do hope that these misgivings will not prevent you from considering our hotel the next time you are in Samui.

Thank you,

Sincerely,

Upon arrival at Koh Samui airport, we had to wait a little while for the airport pickup from the hotel. We were so surprised when we reached the resort, it's so near the airport. Our room was not ready yet so we left our luggage behind to explore.
When we came back around 3pm, we checked in our room and we were delighted with our Deluxe Regency (think it was upgraded from Deluxe) room 210. :) It had privacy and we loved the aromatherapy smell given out by a candle which was burning in a candle holder in the toilet. Thumbs up for that!
When we had enquiries, I would go to the reception to ask. The ladies (too many names to remember) were so helpful and I am so grateful for that! If they aren't sure who I am, they would definitely remember the lady who conversed in paper and pen. Haa!
As for the buffet breakfast, before we could head to any table we like, I am pleased that the person in charge remembered our room number on the 2nd morning. Well done!
We had a minor hiccup though. When I asked the reception what time we had to be at the lobby for the airport transfer, they told me that we needed to be there at 8am the day before. However, on the day of departure, the driver came to our room telling us that we needed to leave earlier. Luckily we had breakfast and already packed our luggages beforehand or else, we would be in a rush. Don't know if it's miscommunication at the reception side.
The cons is that they do not have free WIFI in the rooms, like what other reviewers said too, and it's too far off the Chaweng Beach, we walked to the other strip which had more travellers.
Probably, they would consider having free shuttle service, as we wanted to go to one ice cream cafe which was about 20mins drive according to the reception. Wanted very much to go there, however, dropped the idea as it's abit of a hassle.
Overall, the hospitality made up for the shortfall. :)

It's everything you'll expect. Beautiful and green, two pools (the one with the swim up bar is gorgeous), sun beds and a very extensive buffet breakfast. I stayed in a deluxe bungalow which was definitely spacious and comfortable for one person, with good Aircon and total quiet when the doors are shut. Wasn't too many screaming children, but stick to the swim up bar pool to avoid that. Would most likely recommend.

I have just returned from a lovely 10 night stay at the Chaweng Regent Beach resort, the location is great, the hotels grounds are stunning, the staff where fantastic but the room as a bit of let down and little dated.
I stayed here with my wife and two young children and for us all to be in one room we were told that the deluxe room was the one we would have to stay in.
When we arrived at the check in desk the staff where very friendly and very good at sorting us out as quickly as possible, there was a slight delay in getting the room ready for us. We where then taken through the wonderful landscaped gardens to our room. The room was great in size but a little dated and rough round the edges. There was only one spare plug in the main room and only one in bathroom and neither where easy to get to charge the various array of electronic gismos we all now have. There were more light switches than where necessary which turned turning the lights on into a disco! And you needed to turn the lights on because the room was quite dark.
The bathroom was OK, even if the shower was lacking pressure and most of the water from ended up on the floor than on you and sunken bath with small children isn’t ideal. The view however was a white wall…….
The TV and DVD player where great for the kids and the mini bar wasn’t too full so you could put some of your own water in to keep it cool.
Other than the room, and others for couples where available, this was a great hotel run by great staff!
The only 2 things I would suggest 1- the beach restaurant should lower its prices, as my whole family could have a two course meal plus drinks in other restaurants for the price for of one person for certain meals! 2 – Please sort out the mosquitoes, in an evening we couldn’t sit on the porch without getting bitten and we only once saw any pest control activities.

Room Tip: Try and get a the best room you can.....
