“Very friendly staff!”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

We stayed in this resort during october 2013. I was there on my birthday and the staff brought out a wonderful cake during breakfast for me. Resort is a bit far from the happening areas of Chaweng, but great stay but was easily accessible (just a 15 mins walk from the party area). Pleasant stay and nice property. Decent breakfast too. Would recommend to anyone.

My sister and I spent 6 days, 5 nights here, Staff superb, rooms spotless, nice touches, all staff spoke English, service at the pool great, buffet breakfast with all the hot choices, eggs etc including traditional Thai food. Only negative would be the restaurant - went for dinner and whilst the service was good the food was sadly average, Having said that the pool is sublime we had a massage on the beach literally five steps from the hotel, thought it may put us to sleep as we had just arrived but quite the opposite we felt re-vitalised and went out on the town. Koh Samui is Beautiful from the moment you arrive at the quaintest flowery scented airport. For me Koh Samui has the perfect mix of beach, food, relaxation and night life - a much much more laid back version of Phuket - actually they can't compare Koh Samui wins

We have been here for three days and staying here another two days and we can't enough of it!!! It is so amazing. Although it is low season and not many people are present in the hotel, staff is spoiling us with their service. Thai people are so nice!!!
Villa is just perfect! It feels like private pool is in our living room how connected it is with the room, we are watching tv from the pool :))) Cleaning is extraordinary, every day we get animal shaped towels at the bed, today it was monkey :))) jacuzzi is also there just to feel more spoiled
Food in restaurant oliva is amazing, everything we have tried was so delicious and even though we are coming from the country with great food we don't have any remarks. Really!
Sea and the nature around the hotel is amazing, you can even see a little snake, lizard and a mice, of course staff is making sure it is not dangerous :)
We need to stay for another two days and we are already depressed we need to live ;)
I have been many places and this is my first review since i didn't feel anywhere like this so far
Thanks to the hotel staff for this amazing experience :)

Room Tip: Villa number 4 (our villa) is amazing :) a bit hidden but the entrance looks like we have garden ent...

When we got to this hotel, we were given a superior room on the ground floor right next to the small road in between the hotels partition. We did not like the location and then staff member moved us to the 3rd floor, better location. However the standards of the room were poor, the bathroom condition was disgusting, full of mould, lime scale on showerhead, grease, dirt, dust, peeling paint, this was no way near a 4 star. The step leading into the bathroom area was loose and a trip hazard. The TV was an old ancient box, barely working, interference and the AC was covered in tape & a hole in the ceiling. We approached the staff & asked to be moved to another room, or for an upgrade which we were willing to pay for to a better part of the hotel, but to our disappointment they said they were fully booked & they cannot do anything. After two nights, we had enough and transferred ourselves at our own cost of an extra £300 to the Chaweng Regent Beach resort which was definitely like a 5 star hotel. When we were leaving there was a pregnant manager there, she showed no interest in us, did not consider asking us why we were leaving, so rude and unprofessional. I had to ask the staff member serving us if they could provide us with a lift to the other hotel, she said we will incur a charge of 400 Baht or something like that, but I said after the poor service we received, the least they could do is accommodate transport for us, which she agreed to do reluctantly.
Anyway, this hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the main beach area and there is no beach on this hotel, only an extremely small swimming pool and pool area. The restaurant/breakfast area was pleasant, with a nice spread of food. The staff promoting the excursions, activities were lovely, a young lady was always at the desk, very helpful and accommodating. A man also worked there, we booked the full moon party through the activities desk and he kindly gave us a lift to the port, he was so warm and hospitable. The main hotel staff need training in customer service skills, hospitality management and interpersonal skills. There was no true Thai feel in this resort and hotel room and service was not a 4 star at all, the standards are very low, I rate it a 2 star standard.

Room Tip: If you have to stay at this hotel, get a club or villa room, otherwise stay at another hotel further...

As we were on our honeymoon we booked the Pool Villa for 4 nights- a splurge for our last location in thailand. And we weren't disappointed. The room had a private infinity pool and jacuzzi, and a separate door was provided to the ensuite so you didn't walk through the room which was thoughtful.
The bed was a bit hard for my liking but I found all the beds in thailand more firm, so maybe this is just my preference ?
The hotels infinity pool looks onto the beach, and often we were the only people in the pool. You couldn't go much swimming on the beach cause of the low tide, you had to walk for 5 mins to get any depth - but didn't bother us cause we are both fair skinned and would rather be under an umbrella beside a pool. You could also go get a cheap massage for 200-300 baht on the beach at other hotels which I was surprised the price stayed affordable given the location. And the hotel looked the best from whst we could see on that stretch of private beach. And it was private and beautiful, soooo much better than Patong. The breakfast was nothing special but as long as you can get a fry up, fruit and decent cereal what else do you need? We ate enough to skip lunch most days and make it to dinner! The highlight of our honeymoon was coming to ko samui.

Beach: Ko Samui is an interesting place. Some of the beaches are absolutely world-class with clean, see-through turquoise water and power-white sand, and also dirty, muddy waters filled with corals and rocks. Unfortunately, for Baan Haad Ngam Hotel - and for me for 1 night - I had to make do with the latter. I'm glad I only booked this hotel for one night, and was able to leave the very next day. To be fair, you can walk down about 1 km south toward the center of Chaweng Beach for a much better beach experience, but right in front of the hotel you have one of the worst beaches I have experienced.

Hotel: The hotel is actually quite nice. The rooms are spacious with nice dark hardwood floors, and a nice view of the garden. The mattress and pillows were a bit hard (as also mentioned by another reviewer).

Pool: Nice small infinity pool.

On the day I was staying at this hotel, there was also construction going on right next to the pool. The noise was unbearable. I would have appreciated a warning by Expedia or some kind of extra present from the hotel to make up for that, e.g. free meal, cocktails, or something. I was quite happy to have only booked one night, so I voted with my hard earned cash and chose to move to another hotel.

We came to koh Samui for a friends wedding. They had recommended this resort. The staff are very helpful and friendly, lovely rooms, yummy breakfast, gorgeous outlook over the beach and not far from the main action at chaweng beach! We will definately come back again!
