We spent six wonderful days for our Honeymoon & had most wonderful time. The staff are so friendly & the housekeepers do a wonderful job. Make sure to include breakfast, not the usual buffet as is much smaller & the food is much much more fresh than what you would find at one of the larger hotels. We stayed in the pool villa & would definately reccommend to pay extra to stay in one as they are so spacious & feel like you are in your own little paradise.

We had booked into a bungalow as we wanted to be near the beach, but surprisingly were upgraded to a private pool villa, which was stunning. The rooms were spacious and well laid out, doors open straight out onto the pool, although we opened them once due to all the excitement and then realised we had let in the mosquitoes. Room was very comfortable and clean and the button by the door asking to make the room up when your out for the day is a nice touch.

The pool is fine, plenty of sun lungers around to find your spot and yes there is no beach to speak of at high tide, but as soon as it starts to go out the staff are putting beds out there for those that wish. Happy hour starts at 2pm and the waiters will come round and offer the service.

Staff were helpful and friendly and always pleasant, the cold cloth and orchid garland is a nice touch on arrival.

The hotel is about a 20-30 min walk into the main street in Koh Samui depending if you walk on the road or the beach. Suited us being away from the main area for noise but it can be easily accessed either by taxi or taxi bus. The bus is about 100 bht per person but goes up after a certain time, however there is a taxi place at the top of the road that did us a deal for 150 bht.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay at the hotel and would gladly recommend it to anyone heading for Koh Samui.

We arrived at Baan Haad Ngam after 3 days in Bangkok and wanted to spend a week relaxing, when we arrived we were greeted with drinks and flower garlands which was a nice touch. Our room was one of the standard rooms and we were impressed, it had a large double bed with mosquito nets, television, small balcony, safe minibar etc. the bathroom had separate shower, toilet, his and hers basins and Jacuzzi bath big enough for 2. It had a bit of a rustic charm but was very clean. the breakfast was great and there was a lot of choice including eggs cooked to order and great coffee (which is rare in Thailand!).

the pool area is great, the pool may look a little small to some but was not very busy and there was plenty of space to lie down in sun and shade. drinks and snacks are provided around the pool and are not extortionate. the hotel is north of chaweng which means you are away from the main centre but this suited us just fine, the hotel is on the beach, some reviews have commented that at high tide there is no beach, but you only have to walk for 30 seconds to hit white sand and calm waters.

the only small downside for us was that the staff did not always understand our questions so just sort of brushed us off, this was not a problem for us as we are quite independent. i would also recommend that you do not use the hotel taxi service, it costs the same as local taxi drivers, but you can haggle with the outside drivers for a better deal. we also used a small shop opposite to do our washing and it was a fraction of the price offered by the hotel.

we would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in a garden view room. Staff is friendly and ready to help when needed. Location is not the best possible as the beach in the north end of the Chaveng is very shallow. There is no real sandy area to lay down because rising tide comes right to the steps of the beach access. The beach gets much better with a short walk to the south though the extremely best area is in the middle of the Chaveng beach area. Pool by Olivia restaurant is small but with beautiful view to the sea. All rooms and bungalows are with well kept garden view (heavy plants) and the non-bungalow rooms are located in the higher land closer to the reception. The room was comfortable but would have required some updating especially in the bathroom. Breakfast was served outdoors by the sea and was comprehensive enough.

We decided to go with the Resort after finding they were rated by TripAdvisor.
We were not impressed by the service quality as most of the staff do no speak English fluently and there were a lot of misunderstanding.
Overall it was a good stay and the people were trying their best to help but I think they require a good training to make the service provided of high quality.
Just an important thing, the prices listed on Olivia restaurant if case you get a chance to have lunch,, drink or a dinner there are exclusive of service charges and VAT which is totaling an additional 27% on the advertised prices (we did not see any indication about this on the cart menu)
BUT... we enjoyed our stay in the hotel.

We stayed in the pool villa which was fabulous. They are private and have everything you need for complete relaxation and great for a romantic couple stay. The room itself is spacious and bright. The outdoor spa bath is also a real treat. The hotel is in south chewang away from all the hustle and bustle but is only a 10-15 min easy walk along the beach to the centre of all the action. You will have no problem with the walk unless you have mobility problems or are very unfit. The hotel has a shuttle bus to take you into chewang for free 4 times a day but you have to either walk back or vet a songthew for 50 bath. As I said the wak home along the beach after dinner each night was a romantic highlight and we would often stop at the many beach cafes for a cheap cocktail on our walk home. While in koh samui please do the anthong marine park speedboat tour....it was magic...see my review of this for more info.

After 3 nights in Bangkok we wanted to relax. The Baan haad ngam was just the job . After short taxi ride 500 BT seemed a lot for short journey . On check in was given a flower garland , cold drink and cold towels . The staff made you feel very welcome . We had deluxe bungalow 402 nice little deck with two chairs ,which opened up to large bedroom with . large bed with mosquito nets tv ,cd. And vanity unit , sofa and table . There is a dividing wall with wardrobe , safe and fridge . Had a large bathroom with separate shower and toilet, his and hers washbasins and large Jacuzzi bath . The room was cleaned every day and we had a turn down service every night . The pool was a Infinity pool with amazing views . Had a good complimentary breakfast with good choice and a egg station for omelettes ect . The only downside there was no beach most of the time because of the tide , but you only had to walk a short way down for some sand . There is a.little service road Which run through the middle of the resort so don't get a room near that it could be noisy .the staff were all friendly and the manager was often about looking after his guests . The Baan haad is in a nice quiet spot but only takes 10mins walk along the beach past lots of nice beachside restaurants to get to the hot spots of Chaweag or you can get little jeep taxis which go up and down for 50 by . It was a great place to relax .
