“Beach side is the best”

We stayed at the Amari for 10 days. We were booked for a superior room, but when we found out that the rooms are all located across the street from the main building of the hotel, we asked for an upgrade. The hotel quickly offered us a good deal for an upgrade to a junior suite (around $100 per day). The suite is not really a suite - just a big room with a beautifull, beautifull seaview.

We enojoyed our stay with our 3 year old kid, who loved the swimming pools.

My wife especially loved the perfect café latte served in the restaurant :-)

The Amari Palm Reef Resort hotel was fanstastic,
The service from everyone was excellent, The lads around the pool were always on hand to serve refreshments and new towels if required,
The breakfast was to die for, you name it, it was there.

Don't worry about the pedlars on the beach, you can either ignore them or rather still give them a bit of business and use your bargaining skills.

Go up the town to see the nightlife, it's worth seeing how things
operate .

Lucky for us we had 2 weeks of sunshine apart from last day, when it rained like hell, well worth seeing.

Overall a great holiday.

This place is fine. The pictures make it seem smaller than it is. Most of the rooms are in a 3 story block. The rooms are very nice though. The rooms are across the street and a bit of a walk from the beach, which isn't very nice when you forget something in the room.

Staff was a mix, some people were great, others not so friendly.

My main complaint was that we didn't like Chewang. I should have researched better, but it was party central for the young Aussies and Euros and was jammed with bars, trinket and knock-off shops, travel agencies and seedy nightlife.

I just back from Samui where a spend a week at Amari Palm reef, i been there several time over the past sex years but a can say that this time was the best one; Attention to the ditail, from the check-in with helpful smiling and attentive staff, to a breakfast that you can died for!
I got my beautiful room in the Thai village, just perfect, clean and quiet, beautiful tropical garden all around, smiling staff always ready to help you for any matter, just a paradise!
Of course i can't forget Prego the Italian restaurant that of course is the best on the island.
Thank you to the management for the great job, well done!
I will return to Samui sometime this year and of course i will choose Amari Palm reef again!

Me and my family have just returned after a week long amazing experience at the Amari Palm Reef Resort at Koh Samui. The resort is indeed an excellent getaway and gives every kind of traveller their monies worth. We were treated like 'Kings' - right from the welcome at the airport (with hand garlands) to the drop back at the airport (right upto the check-in counters). Each and every staff (would call it human asset for Amari) - were extremely respectful and always eager to help. The service rendered was with a gentle smile and this brought in the element of warmth.

Now - some bit on the property and the location. The resort is beautiful and well located on the best beach at Koh Samui. The proximity to the ocean is amazing and our room was merely 20 meters away from the waves !!!. Isnt that amazing !!. The resort is extremely well maintained and rooms are well serviced twice a day. Fresh towels (bath and hand) and toileteries are well stocked and infact we never had the occasion to ask for additional towels through out our stay.

The resort is just that little away from the night markets to give you the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle. Having said that - you can be with the crowd within about 5 to 7 minutes walk - with street shopping available on either sides of the road.

I must thank the Management and staff at Amari Koh Samui - for making sure that we had an indeed wonderful stay at the resort. Particularly, I would like to thank Thomas Grosjean (who warmly received us at the resort and kept checking on our comfort) and Kruawan Thongpob.

Thank you Roland - for having us over and making our visit memorable. I have promised the waves at Chewang beach that we would return for yet another holiday soon and it is obvious that our choice of accomodation would remain Amari.

  • Liked — The Ocean view from the Junior Suites and the proximity to the waves
  • Disliked — Non availability of wirefree internet connection in the room. It is available only in the restaurants downstairs.

WOW - A piece of heaven on earth! We could not fault the staff, service and accomodation. This was our 1st visit to Thailand and we were impressed. Great location and just a stroll away from the nightlife. Recommended if you are staying in the Chaweng area.
