Great location, Staff gets extra points!

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 15, 2013
Big clean rooms, clearly new with the bonus of a piping hot power shower! The hotel facilities are all up to standards, including a nice well maintained pool with a conveniently located bar. Overall, nothing was lacking from the standard resort vibe, with the convenience of having everything within walking distance, or arranged by the hotel (airport transfers etc). The main standout of this hotel is the lovely STAFF!!! Some get special mention such as the cleaning staff who greeted us with a smile at every encounter and always did a wonderful job. The restaurant staff were always pleasant (even when you come in for breakfast the second they open the doors after a long night out dancing) and were often joking and creating a great atmosphere. The security staff made it a point to wave and greet us in and out of the property. Our stay would not have been complete, however, without Yod, the manager. Even working long hours he was ALWAYS there if we needed anything at all, providing helpful information about anything we asked and ALWAYS making us feel comfortable and welcomed. After speaking with other guests, we realized that he went out of his way to make EVERY guest feel at home at Verti Color, which is no small feat in a resort this size! Absolutely wonderful!

Our travel agent booked us into a hotel (Citin Urbana) that is still under construction and not open for business yet and we somehow ended up at this place instead (must be part of the same hotel chain). We were pleasantly surprised, the service was excellent and the rooms were very modern and clean. The breakfast was pretty awful but all in all I would recommend this hotel, good value for money and in a central location, not very far from Chaweng beach.

Big clean rooms and a decent breakfast. The beach is just a short walk away, lots of eateries around-good value for money. The only suggestion I'd like to make is that WIFI should be free in the rooms as well not just around the lobby.

Great Hotel with superior rooms for a good price and very important; lovely staff! Besides that; near to the beach (3 minute walk) and nice swimmingpool in front of hotel. There are transfers from and to the hotel and motorbikes can be rent at the reception.

I came across this hotel after Florist hotel informed me 1 week before my trip that they had no rooms for me despite my confirmation. I was going to Koh Samui to celebrate my husbands’s birthday /New year countdown. This hotel was relatively new then and I could not find any reviews. The lady I was liasing with via email (Siriporn) was very helpful so I took the chance and proceeded to book. She told me that I can pay once I check in. I included the land transfers (not cheap).
We did not find any taxi waiting for us when we reached the Koh Samui airport. So we had to make a roaming call and it seemed like the hotel staff overlooked. Ok fine. We got into this hotel. It is not by the main road, which is good. Just about 5 mins walk in. A very cheery colourful short building. Nice looking pool (we never used it). We had to wait a long while to check in. No aircon at the reception. The receptionist were least bit helpful. They were slow and it seemed as though they refused to answer my questions. I asked for the staff whom I was liasing with but too bad she was not there. After a grumpy check in, we went to our room and we really liked it. We were given a free upgrade to the suite on the 6th floor. Comfy bed bathroom ok, small sofa bed by the corner. It was good for the price we paid (not including the receptionists). I ordered a birthday cake for my husband and was not charged for it.  breakfast was basic. Nothing much. We could not get any bikes to rent as they were all rented out. Overall, I would stay here again if I go back to Koh Samui.

Room tip: you can see the sea from the 6th level.

I got a very cheap deal for this hotel, around 15 euros a night for a very comfortable room. The pool is big and enables one to swim in it happily and relax. There is also a gym. The hotel lives up to good modern European standards (shower, bedding, lighting, plugs, tv etc).
At night may be a bit noisy with people going back and forth but with ear plugs you'll be fine.
You have to pay an expensive cab to go to the airport (that's what they call a shuttle!!) but then that's the same everywhere in Samui, only way to avoid the cost is to try to pool with other people catching same flight. The surroundings are typical of Samui: noisy, very commercial....

Room tip: The higher the better.
