We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel but the breakfasts are pretty poor compared to the other places we stayed. A suggestion would be go for the breakfast-less stay option and just eat some where else as there are many other places with better breakfasts.

*Almost every morning the hotel's toaster stopped working and the breakfast food options are very limited.

Pro's and Con's to staying at this hotel:
PROs:
- It's locations is north of Chaweng beach so its a nice quiet at night (away from the fire cracker bangs) but just a short walk/scooter ride to the hustle and bustle of Chaweng.
- You can rent scooters from the hotel (350 baht) but the is a scooter rental shop just up the road where its only 200 baht for a 2 person scooter/vespa. (This shop also gives free helmets and the only require your drivers licence as security)
-The resort is really looked after and rooms are clean. Fresh towels are given every day with beach towels.
- Staff are really friendly and helpful in almost every way.
- Complimentary shuttle service is given by the hotel to central Chaweng 4 times a day.
- Complimentary water is given by the hotel and the mini bar prices are really reasonable aka cheap.
- There is a great little restaurant opposite the scooter rental shop just up the road.
- Umbrellas are also provided by the resort as Koh Samui does have sudden downpours.
- Island and restaurant guides are available in the lobby area.

CONs
- Breakfast is poor.
- The cleaning lady always ended up cleaning our room on the return from breakfast so we had to wait outside and she ended up rushing a little.
- The beach at the resort is not a great beach at all, the sand is very coarse and the sea full of sea weed making it unpleasant to swim in. (a great beach is literally just round the corner so its not a big deal)
- Pool was slightly green.
- If lizards and frogs scare you they are plenty full here due to the lovely plants and rainfall but only come out at night.

Would defiantly stay here again.

I found Al's on my Trip Advisor App and chose it for the location it is central to everything on Chaewang beach. The hotel grounds are looking a bit tired but my room was very nice, comfortable, clean with great aircon. Breakfast was included and was excellent. The restaurant on the sand at the front of the hotel was the gem of my trip with excellent fresh seafood cooked to order after you choose your own fish shrimp oysters etc . th e restaurant staff are cheerful and efficient.
the BIG downer was the wi fi, after paying for one hours usage I was lucky to get 3 or 4 minutes, I ended up going to an Irish Pub on the main street to use their WI FI.
Please don't use their preferred transport to the town on the mainland, I wanted and paid to go to the railway station and was dumped at a public bus station and given the public bus fare to the station one hour away by bus. I caught a taxi after much hassle.

Room Tip: Overall is good value, but give their non existent wi fi a miss, arrange your own transport.

Hi,
Location of hotel is near the beach. Can walk down to the beach from your rooms.
Rooms are villa concepts, have outdoor shower.Quite spacious and comfortable, Very quite place to relax, though the villas are scattered throughout the compound, will be challenging for some elderly folks going and coming from the villa's as its situated on higher grounds, roads are inclined upwards walking's.

The hotel has shuttle services to the town (hotel will drop you off at Tops Supermarket and pick from up from there), not hourly, but at certain hours in the morning and evening. Walking to the town center would take approximately 30-45mins,there is a lots of ups and downs (the roads) that you have to do before reaching the town.
Returning from city to hotel via taxis would cost around 200-250bht. Motorcycle tuk tuk or other private cars would cost around 80bht to 100bht.

Swimming pool has a nice backdrop of the beach, has a pool side bar. the beach is ok to roam around and do beach activities like canoeing (canoe can be used for free, provided by the hotel). Am not sure whether the waters are ideal or not for swimming, didnt notice many people swimming but rather walking on the waters, because the water level is shallow.

Hotel staffs are pleasant and forthcoming with anything you require, Villa prices were quite reasonable,i suppose this is because it was a low season.

This would be an ideal location hotel for young couples, or people who don't want to be near the city.

Thanks

Me and my girlfirend had a holidayweek in koh samui before we started backpacking on a budget and Als Laemson was spot on for what we needed.
The service was amazing, they couldnt do enough for you.
The room was very clean, big and had a semi outdoor shower.
The swimming pool had a swim up bar and drop edge that looked out over what was basically a private beach as it was at the extreme end of chaweng beach that very few people pass, although you are still only a few minutes walk from town.
We couldnt recommend this place enough!!!

In wonderful Koh Samui, everything comes with a free smile. Great service, as also the lack of it. We should have realised from the start that the place wasn't worth it, but what to do, we'd paid for four nights in advance, and it was Christmas, the chances of finding alternative accommodation were next to nil. Here's how it went wrong:
1. We had booked a Suite Beach Front Villa only to realise that there was hardly any view of the beach or the sea. The only view was through another villa, provided the curtains therein were not drawn. On pointing this out we were shifted to another villa. This time one could see the sea, but only during the day as it was at least half a mile away. All this with a customary smile.
2. My wife and I are vegetarians. We were politely informed that a vegetarian breakfast could not be provided as there were no other vegetarians in the hotel. So much for Thai hospitality.

Room Tip: Stay away
