My partner and I stayed here in early January 2013 for a week, in a suite. We wouldn't usually spend quite this much on accommodation, but we were both so glad we did. We had the most amazing stay at Sareeraya. The staff were very attentive and helpful, and checking in was a breeze, which is exactly what we needed after 3 flights from Paris! We were able to get an earlier flight which was great, but it meant the resort were not expecting as and as such the airport transfer we booked through the resort wouldn't be waiting there for us. Fortunately someone from the airport called the resort for us, and by the time we got our bags and walked out the front someone was there waiting for us which was great.
Our suite had a plunge pool with jacuzzi which was probably my favourite aspect of the room. I had read earlier reviews of people saying the plunge pool was tiny... They must have had very high expectations because it is ample in size. The resort is on the northern end of Chaweng beach, but by no means is it totally out of the way of the main part of Chaweng. We walked into the main area every day, and that was only a 10 minute walk until we were in the thick of it and only 5 minutes until you start coming across shops/restaurants.
We ate breakfast at the resort restaurant each morning and it was lovely - particularly the coffee! The chef cooks whatever eggs/waffles etc you would like. The only other meal we ate from the resort was when we ordered room service the day we arrived - their prices were quite expensive compared to most other places in town.
The beach area in front of the resort (or back, which ever way you look at it!) is really well maintained by the resort staff. I just found the atmosphere of the beach to be so relaxed, it was absolutely lovely. This is in comparison to other places in Thailand such as Phuket, where it's quite hectic with people coming up to you every few minutes trying to sell you something - this is not the case in Chaweng.
We ate many times at the restaurant called 'Your Restaurant' which is to the left of the resort as you walk out onto the beach. I would definitely recommend it, if only for the scenery (but the food was great too).
I highly recommend to anyone to stay at Sareeraya, you won't regret it!

Room Tip: Suite with a plunge pool and jacuzzi was perfect!

I have stayed at the Sareeraya Villas And suites four times now and I feel so comfortable here that I have not bothered to look elsewhere. After the last five years of travelling to Thainland I believe this is my favourite place to stay. The hotel looks almost the same as when I first visited and is always clean and looking pretty. ( especially the lush gardens and ponds).

I always find the service to be excellent. The staff are very friendly, even the security guards! The staff are attentive to your needs and any request made is never too much trouble.

I find the beach here a great location with a good amount of sand and the water is always beautiful. All day the staff brush the sand free of any sticks or seaweed so it always looks pristine.

The hotel made a mistake with our booking and we were upgraded to a villa which was incredible and even though the plunge pool is a bit small it didn't distract from the amazing views at sunset from the main pool during happy hour.

The food is of great standard and the room service is quick and to the same standard as the restaurant.

We had an amazing time in the private cooking lessons with Thai Chef who truly takes time to help you understand what you are cooking and the ingredients your using. This I would highly recommend.

The only drawback is I feel it is a bit expensive for Thailand.

I've read the negative comments on here and it seems that most don't read the fine print. It is quite obvious that if you don't read the fine print you may not get what you are looking for. My expectations have always been met or exceeded here and this is partly due to research on the Internet and word of mouth. No hotel is ever going to be perfect, unless you want to pay top $$$ and even then ones expectations of a place may differ.

I will be visiting Thailand again in January 2015 and will make another welcomed visit to Sareeraya, subject to availability, as it is confirmation that I can at least make one aspect of my holiday great, and that's the accommodation.

Thanks to Sammy and his work mates at the hotel for a wonderful stay in November / December 2012, you taught us some great Thai words and gave us some great laughs while we were there. Your service is excellent and we hope you and the team are all there when we return.

Room Tip: We recommend the Ocean View whichever room you stay in. Ocean View Jacuzzi Suite and Ocean View Pool Villa are probably the best. We also recommend leaving 100-300 baht on the end of your bed each day before you head out, the staff really do a great job and this is small change in your currency makes a big difference in theirs. I recommend you leave a tip in any country you stay in on the end of your bed, after all, imagine cleaning up a mess like yours?

We stayed in Pool-villa for 4 nights during JAN-2011 which was part of our Honeymoon. The location is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the pool-villa to the core. The most desired location of resort is the Pool area ( virtually infinity ) & beach itself, one can lounge around there for hours. Give a shot at Italian restaurant run by Amari Vogue walking distance from resort ( very authentic & sizable collection of wine ) Chaweng market & massage parlors are scattered around resort so its fun to relax in massage during evening time. OVERALL HAD A GREAT TIME !

Dear ujjvalAhmedabad,

Thank you for your generous compliments. We are extremely pleased that you enjoyed every minute of your stay with us, especially the pool, the beach and the well-appointed villas. Our location is really perfect being just outside the city center leaving you with only a short walk to Chaweng’s main entertainment area, shops and eateries. We hope that you will come to visit us again soon!

Stayed here for four nights as part of our honeymoon tour of Thailand after three nights at Zazen Boutique Hotel in Bo Phut - half the price and twice the service!

For a supposedly 5-star hotel we found the housekeeping at Sareeraya shoddy, breakfast meagre and service generally poor.

The management are keen to use guests' feedback as an opportunity to "sell" the hotel and that's a shame. Those that stay there and experience the service are best placed to "tell it how it is". Whilst they may aspire to all of these things e.g. towels, water and additional services at the pool and beach, in reality this doesn't happen. I know, I was there!

There are far better places to stay, don't be fooled by the rhetoric - buyer beware!

Dear JackyHobson,

Thank you for choosing to stay in Sareeraya Villas & Suites during your trip to Koh Samui. We are sorry to hear that there were elements of your stay that did not meet your expectations. Actually, we have already replied on 27 December to a review posted by your partner Chris H regarding the same issues.

As we mentioned in our response, we have duly noted your remarks regarding the cleanliness of your villa and have passed your comments to our housekeeping department. Also, we have a towel station next to our swimming pool and our staff is pleased to assist guests at any time. Our staff walks around the pool ensuring everything is going smoothly and offers complimentary cold face towels twice every afternoon.

We do not agree with your comments about our breakfast and service as majority of our guests are more than happy with them. You are of course entitled to your opinion and we respect that.

Finally, we would like to remind that whenever any needs or requests are brought to our attention, we are ready to solve them immediately.

We spent a great week in the hotel, enjoying the suite that was right on the beach.
The room was huge with a private pool and jacuzzi. The service was very good and friendly, and a very decent breakfast.
We reserved airport transportation through the hotel which worked well.
You can skip the restaurant for dinner or lunch and go to small decent places in Chaweng or more pricy places like TreeTops.
