The Nora Chaweng Hotel was our last stop of 6 on our honeymoon in Thailand, and was most definately the best! After arriving there the day of Songkran festival, we were soaked to the bone from the festivities and rain, and they welcomed us, wet bags and all, to a beautiful room, wonderful service, great food, and really great staff who made us feel like royalty. We spent 5 nights there and loved it!!! A really well run hotel, which really impressed us in all areas! THANK YOU SO MUCH NORA!!! it was like a home away from home...we will never forget!xxx

Everything was good, they have friendly and attentive staffs. Located in the busy street of Chaweng. Walking distance to many eateries and massage parlors. The room has good wifi. Breakfast was just okay. We were greeted in the lobby with a glass of juice. Once check in was completed, we were escorted to our room and given a quick tour of the room.

We only stayed a night here but encountered a few issues. We have previously stayed before with Nora (at the beach resort) so trusted the Nora brand. The room had lots of ants, we are not too picky but they were everywhere (think toothbrushes...) and the rooms had plenty of mould in the bathrooms, I'll mirror others comments as the sheets and pillows were dirty and ripped. This didn't bother us too much as it was only for a night but disappointing nonetheless.
The real issue occurred at the swimming pool, if you decide to venture there, please don't. It's covered and therefor freezing for a start, but there's more parts of trees in the pool than out! Also while we were sat on the sunbeds I guess a maid must have been cleaning out toilets upstairs and just chucked it off the balcony causing us to get rained on by dirty, smelly water. This drenched our clothes which we decided to throw out to be safe as I'm sure it was effluent...
On the positive side the staff were all fantastic and attentive, even printing out flight details for us too. Would probably return once it's had a deep clean and the pool is redesigned.

The hotel is located on the Main Street of Chaweng, but has no beach. To walk to the beach is around 3-5 minutes, and we found our way through other hotels entrances, which felt weird.

Rooms are quite big and have space for things.
We had ants in the teapot and sink. The sheets and towels have spots in them, even after they switch them, meaning everything is the same.

The hotel has very good wifi in rooms and computer in the lobby for free use.
Nice selection of food in menu (we didn't have breakfast here though, so referring to room service only).

The good points:
* The hotel is close to the airport and is also in a great location on the main road close to a wealth of shops, restaurants and the beach (contrary to statements, beach access is easy with a 4min walk and access via Marine Bungalow)
* We found the staff quite personable. We were greeted in the lobby with a glass of juice. Once check in was completed, we were escorted to our room and given a quick tour of the room's facilities.
* Free fast wifi

The bad points:
I had a similar experience to Exemail93.
* The room smelled of cigarette smoke anxious there were cigarette butts in the pot plants out on the balcony.
* The sheet on the bed had someone else's blood stains on it as well as other miscellaneous stains, so we had to have these changed.
* The tiles and blinds in the bathroom were moldy. The shower curtain was stained.
* Breakfast is ordinary.
* The hotel is generally run down. The lobby and pool are in good condition which is misleading. The carpet in the hallways are stained.

I would recommend looking elsewhere and spending the extra money to get a better hotel. We already booked and paid in advance, so we're just dealing with it.

The driver who picked us up from the ferry terminal stopped at 2 hotels with the name Nora in them before we reached the correct one.
Located across the road from Chaweng Beach, about 4-mins walking.
We love the elegantly decorated lobby area and clean room we got on Level 4 and were so happy that the bathroom is on the luxurious side.
Flat screen TV, mini kettle, beach towel (aside from the bath towel), and safety deposit box are provided. Complimentary bottled water is replenished every day.
Buffet breakfast is just okay. Egg station is available outdoor although we thought it was closed as no one was manning it. Only found out during our last day that we have to request for it.
Went to the pool in the evening but found it not really clean and the water too cold.
Staff were helpful although not fluent in English.

I was really worried about coming to this hotel with my 5 friends because of the reviews but I thought I'd give it a go, wrong choice! After staying at such a lovely hotel in patong, this place is like the slumps of koh samui and ruined our stay here as we will not return. Firsty the place stinks, especially our room and bathroom, there were dirty underwear left on the balcony from the previous people, your not allowed to leave your air con on when you go for a walk so they only give you one key, the breakfast was HORRIBLE even though it was included we went and payed somewhere else outside. The staff would not let 2 of my friends get a room with two single beds as they are two boys in stead it was going to be $45 Australian a night to have a fold out bed! There is mould all on the walls behind our bed and on the curtains, stains all on the carpet in the Hallway, the bed is rock solid, compared to our friends beds that where okay. Our view is looking into people's houses. And our friends Bed sheets had someone else's blood on them (yuck!). All in all if your staying here please look somewhere else and don't ruin your stay.
