“**I would never return here based on principle.”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

I stayed here one night based on positive reviews. The woman running the desk has an apparent going with her "taxi driver" boyfriend. She called him to drive me to the 10 minute airport drive and told me it would be 400 baht (overpriced based on my 2 weeks knowledge of Thailand). When he showed up, he drove me there and then refused to accept 400 baht, demanding 500 from me. I said we agreed on 400 at the hotel and so he dialed his girlfriend at reception who lied to me and suddenly said it was 500. Here's the next part that is EXTREMELY TROUBLING. I got fed up with the scam and shoved the 500 baht toward him just to get away from him as he was becoming scary. At that point he jumped over the front seat and HIT ME (yes I am a woman). He threatened to punch me and to call the police. The tourist police at the Bangkok airport said I had to press charges "with my assailant" back in Chaweng which is ridiculously unrealistic since he was violent. Regarding the other aspects of the hotel, there was nobody working at the restaurant the night arrived, and the TV didn't work. It was located 30 minute walk from shopping and 10 minute walk from beach. I hope the owners take swift action.

Your review caught all our attention but contains numerous errors, voluntary or not.
1)Thai people are charming and honest..if you have had some problems it's necessary to think about your own behavior.2)Our staff receives only compliments but cannot defend behavior despicable.3)The distances you speak about are.. fanciful, unless you move with a rolling chair,:the first shop is at 10 min by walk(max.) and the beach at 4 min by walk.you can read that on each review.4)Sometimes,the restaurant is closed..let read the advice..and a lot of restaurants are open and staying at 4 min by walk.5)All of the t.v are working(we have checked).but in one night ,not easy to understand how it' working.A review like your ,having stayed one night,is..irresponsible.
Thanks.

I have read again several reviews in this site because I choose this place based on this reviews, but after staying at this place I really don´t understand most of them. Maybe I had a bad experience, but this hotel it is not a resort at all, the bungalows are very small, not very clean, in my case, the hot shower didn´t work, they didn´t have dinner the only night I ask for food, if you don´t rent a motorbike you are quite far from the night life in Chaweng. You pay a lot more than you receive, it is totally overrated and I can say it because I travelled around Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia for almost one month and this was the only place that dissapointed me at all.

We had à wonderful time during two weeks at Baan Sukreep ressort. On the very first day, Alain (Alain and Pascale are the belgian owners) gave us à map of Ko Samui and surrounding ilands and told us about the best places to see.
The ressort is situated on the middle of Paradice, the swiming pool is surrouwnded by nice, comfortables bungalows, you walk five minutes and you are on one of the nices beaches of Samui. And if you need a rest, enjoy the Tai cuisine specialties.
A place not to be missed.

Hey, I spent 3 days (or nights) in this resort, and it definitly appears as a really good place to stay much longer, not far away from the main road but not too close as well, you quicly feel at home, with alain and pascale (the owners) taking well car of you. Everything is clean as new and all the confort is present in the room. It's definitly a really good quality price resort, i do recommend it !

With 6 Bungalows and 2 Villas, the Baan Sukreep resort is tucked away in an old Coconut plantation about 400 metres from the beach. Both quaint and quiet its a place to relax around the small pool (no need to rush for sunbeds!) and jacuzzi away from all of the hustle and bustle of the rest of the island. If its partying you're after then a taxi or tuk-tuk journey is required to Chaweng which takes around 10 minutes, both of which you can flag easily from the end of the lane along the main road. They also have scooters for hire. We rented both a Bungalow and a Villa and we arrived early (9am), the Belgian owner (Alain) and his family were both very accommodating and charming which made our stay very personal. The two Thai ladies working for them - both very entertaining and jovial - providing both the cooking (authentic), and cleaning, they worked very hard. The Bungalows themselves are cozy and cool with the air conditioning, but the luggage and the clothes spaces are outside the front of them on the balcony along with a fridge. The private balcony for each Bungalow is great for watching the stars at night (bring insect repellent as there are plenty of hungry insects around). The Villas are simple yet fully functional for 4 adults with kitchen utensils provided. The sleeping arrangements in the Villa is a queen bed and sofa bed, the latter being bearable. The only air conditioned room in the Villa is the bedroom but a fan is provided making sleeping in the sofabed tolerable and it cools the rest of the Villa sufficiently. Out of the resort a walk slightly uphill leads you to a Family Mart supermarket where you can buy everyday essentials, bigger supermarkets are in the town itself. Although there is an option for breakfast we opted to cook breakfast in the Villa, eat lunch at the resort and then in the evenings wonder down to the main road where there was a small selection of restaurants on the beach. Dinner is served between 6 and 9pm, we arrived back at 9pm one evening to find the two Thai ladies waiting for us to check if we wanted dinner before they left for the night, a nice touch, but from then on we informed them early in the evening as to whether or not we were dining. Every Saturday there is a BBQ. Alain provided us tour recommendations and was able to book them for us. Free hi-speed Wifi is available and there are plenty of soft seats and tables available in a covered seating area adjoining the dining area. There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available from a fridge and it works on an honor based system - a beer for example is between 60 and 70bht. The resort is cash only. Don't expect the impersonal extravagance of a high end resort but do expect a warm welcome, charm and personal experience for a price that is hard to beat. Transfer time from the airport is just 15 minutes. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would definitely return :-). A big thank you Alain and team for making our 5 days with you so much fun!

We recently stayed for 3 weeks and found it to be everything we were looking for. What were we looking for????.......Clean, relaxed and conveniently located accommodation (we were travelling with three children & and my parents). The host is kind & thoughtful and the resort is clean, well priced and close to a lovely clean beach (only a small walk away) and a selection of restaurants. Most importantly, the beds are comfortable (we have suffered our way through rock hard beds at other resorts - never again). We will be staying at Ban Sukreep, every time we visit Samui. Breakfast each day was a perfect start to the day. Suited our needs perfectly as a family.

We stayed 4 nights, found the place by coincidence by looking at ratings from TripAdvisor. The place is really nice, located in a coconut -plantation, but still only 5 minutes walk to the beach.
Very familiar and charming resort, but also very well maintained and clean. There is a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Overall standard is simple, yet fully sufficient. Only thing missing is the quality and availability of coffee..but I am sure that is fixed very soon.
Hence, highly recommeded place.
