“Fantastic place to wind down!”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 via mobile

We had a fantastic time staying in the suite of this wonderful farmhouse. The old couple and their daughter helped us a great deal with reservations and tips to visit sights in the surrounding area. The suite itself was worth every penny, with two bathrooms and a jacuzzi. Will definetely be back!

It was a wonderful experience to have stayed in such a charming, open and well-kept manor for 2 weeks in the Christmas holiday season. It is situated near a cultured small town with markets and friendly people. Transits to Paris from the town took approximately an hour, which was well worth staying at such a remarkable and welcoming estate, a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of such a large and lively city.

As it was in the cold season, mornings greeted us with white-frosted fields and trees and as the day went by, the frost melted, providing a glimpse of the coming Spring. The nature all around the estate was such a magical sight. The grounds were well-kept, as was the house. The appliances and kitchenware were of a good standard and the kitchen in the common area provided more than expected for a homely stay. The town near by provides good shopping and grocery opportunities as well.

This house was decorated very tastefully and had a novelty warm fireplace in the common room. The living quarters were spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean, comfortably large and well presented. Wifi was provided and it was very accessible and moderately speedy.

All in all, the LGAL is a magical and comfortable place to stay and much like a home away from home. I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to France.

Yes, it is all true what they said in all the reviews about this fabulous dwelling!

There is a tree-lined driveway leading to the gate of the estate. Beyond the gate, it is a beautiful garden with 3 separate 'houses': the main house, the converted barn and a chalet in a sprawling land. It even has a stable with horse (yes, real horse) at the back of the estate! The area is beautiful, the sounds serene, and even the smells delightful and earthy! You can take a walk in the forrest next to the estate or just laze around in the compound with a good book!

My wife and I stayed in the double-bedroom with a sizable en suite bathroom situated on the upper floor in the main house. It seems that the owner has chosen every piece of furniture in the room with careful thought. It is put together beautifully, and feels like home away from home. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is full of modern luxury. I wished my own home is like that!

The B&B is very convenient to get to Disneyland and the renowed La Vallée Village factory outlet.
Less than an hour drive will get you into central Paris. There are typical French shops and restaurants in the nearby village to the B&B.

We will definitely come back when I visit Paris!

Room Tip: The Chalet is handicap friendly.

I had the pleasure of staying here for a few days when in France in July.
The home is very private and fenced and gated. trees line the road in so it cannot be seen from the road.
I stayed in the converted barn self contained apartment. Private and away from the home. The fittings and furniture are top class and not what you would normally expect. Wifi is everywhere though we had a couple of issues with it that were fixed.
The gardens are immaculate and the estate surrounded by forrest. Cycling in the area is great with quiet backroads and plenty of villages to explore.
Less than an hour to the centre of Paris.
Also some lovely restaurants close by recommended by Philip.
A most enjoyable experience and a place i look forward to returning to again soon.

During July when I was touring France I came across a "Gem" of a B&B property.

Located in Saint Ouen sur Morin, this property comprised a large Farmhouse, self contained "barn conversions" apartments and a detached bungalow all located in fabulous garden/woodlands.

The place is idyllic, quiet yet within one hour of Paris / shopping village and the Champagne regions.

I cannot emphasis how good this accommodation is . The property has been renovated not on the basis of adding just more space but one of providing the customer with the very best in furnishings , comfort and luxury.

My room which had two double beds, an en suite bathroom and access to a lounge/TV area, kitchenette and a small study, provided me with a wealth of luxury that I have not experienced in many of the prestigious 5 star Hotels, and certainly never in any B&Bs.

As someone who has renovated properties, I was very impressed by all the fittings and fixtures. everything was to the very highest standard.

The garden . patio areas and woodlands are superb.

This accommodation could be the choice of single traveller, family, romantic weekend etc. It has it all.

I used my time to cycle in the area enjoying the quiet , tranquil lanes France has to offer and eat is some very nice restaurants in the nearby villages.

A drive to Paris was within easy reach and was accomplished under one hour.

I have given this "Gem " 5 stars in every category, if there was 6 this would have been registered with my vote.

Go try it !!!

Thanks to Philip and Tuyet for hosting me, I was well taken care of, my stay was short in March 2013, but very enjoyable and to see snow on the ground was a real bonus coming from Singapore. The Pied a Terre is really like a cocoon, so comfortable I which I could have stayed much longer to enjoy it and to walk in the forest. I will return in the summer for a much longer period as the region looks lovely and I have a great place to explore from.

My husband and I stayed in LGAL in July 2013 during our visit to France. When we arrived at LGAL, we were so impressed by how beautiful the estate is with its manicured garden and vast compound. Everything looks exactly like the photos on the website. We stayed in La Reine Marguerite room and totally loved it! The room is spacious, clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. It has high ceiling and oozes french charm everywhere. The bathroom is huge with double washing basins and all the modern convenience you can think of. The water pressure here is very good and makes taking a shower a relaxing experience. The kitchenette in the common area outside the room even has a Nespresso machine and a fridge stocked with free drinks.
