Our experience of French hotels is long & satisfactory. We speak the language, love the country & its people. As we live in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, we have natural sympathy with the French nation & enjoy much in common...
The shock of being so haughtily & coldly received as if of inferior intelligence and undeserving was hardly a good start! No help with baggage was initially forthcoming although a steep staircase led to our suite, the minimalist breakfast was indicated as "offered" on our bill - rather than "included" - etc. etc.
If the décor was interesting, albeit at the limit "kitsch" in places, far more importantly, the odour of drains was noticeable in several areas, the shower pressure in our suite was insufficient & we had problems with the Velux windows & blinds despite Madame's somewhat impatient explanation! To be fair, the beds & upstairs décor were good and the grounds are splendid.
We were over for a major distinguished marriage & our friends regretted having suggested Le Feuilleret, their other guests having spent the happy weekend elsewhere in welcome accommodation. Not recommended.More
