Been 4 times now and the first two times when the pub had just reopened was a pleasing experience, however the last two visits have been appalling, once during the week and last weekend. Quality of food and presentation is dreadful, don't know what has happened, perhaps the Chef has been changed to save money, well that is false economy because what we have latterly experienced has caused us to bring a halt to our visits and cross this off our list of places to eat. I wont go into what was wrong with our Fish and Chips on the weekday visit (at a loss to understand how they could screw up 3 lots of fish an chips and a steak that was overdone dramatically despite asking for rare) we put that visit down to a bad day but last Sunday was even worse, the Sunday dinner had obviously been sitting around for some time and was almost tasteless and my ploughman's lunch was dreadful and bore no resemblance to what the menu stated. This was not an off day at all it was sloppy provision of food and very poor presentation. Will not be going back.

What a lovely find, this beautiful pub that is spacious and nicely decorated, with gorgeous surroundings and outside space for Children. The kids loved it with the choice inside or outside play meaning parents can relax, extremely friendly staff and wide choice of menu what definately come back again!!!

On our way back from Chester we called in to the Dunham Arms for lunch. Pub is on the A56 near to Helsby. Large car park and wheelchair access mean all can enjoy. Plenty of space inside as well as outdoor seating for those all too rare warm sunny days. Menu is good as was the food for a reasonable price coupled with good friendly service. They have a curry evening on Wednesdays. We'll certainly go back and recommend it to others unlike the pub in Helsby that we labelled "Diabolical". If only we'd known then.

We have visited the Dunham Arms many times. The food has always been of a good standard and the portion sizes are excellent. The car park is large and the restaurant is large enough to accommodate everyone even on busy days. We feel the food is much better than your regular pub food and the prices are good value for money.

The only criticism we have is that when your glass is empty, I think it is fine to be asked once if you want another drink (may be twice) but to be asked continually is rude! Like most places nowadays the profit must be made on the drinks. But beware this action could put people off future visits.
