the park looks more spacious now it has been transformed. the new play area is ideal for children, there are plenty of benches and picnic areas and a cafe makes it enjoyable.

Castle Park Arts Centre, which is reached via Fountains Lane, has three galleries, exhibitions which change every six weeks, and a coffee shop. Entrance is free.
However, it is only one of the attractions of Castle Park, a public park whose entrance and car park is off the A56. The park was recently renovated and there are formal gardens, lawns, woods with lots of grey squirrels, and a large children's playground.
In good weather it is a very pleasant (and free) place to spend a couple of hours, especially if you have children with you.
