“Fabulous place for a relaxing break”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

We have recently spent a long weekend in 'The Loft' celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. We were delighted at how comfortable and spacious the apartment was, beautifully decorated and very well equipped. The owners obviously have a real eye for detail, I also had a peek in two of the cottages and they were equally as fabulous. Definitely hope to return.
Many thanks

We stayed in Number 1 in Helsby and had a wonderful time. The cottage was definitely 'home from home'. It was clean, tidy and warm. There was ample storage and space for our needs.
The kitchen was well equipped with a small garden at the back. The lounge and dinning area were comfortable and a good place to spend your evenings.

I really don't have anything bad to say about this place and I am a very picky traveller. Would stay here again and have no issues recommending to others.

Room Tip: All rooms in the cottage we stayed in were very clean and well equipped. You really can't go wro...

We stayed in the stables with our children and grandchildren and had a fantastic time. We returned in 2012 as a couple and stayed in the loft and found it to be a home away from home despite the wet weather will return for our xt trip home from Australia and will certainly recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: There are different sized rooms and depending on the size of your party all are fantastic

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children, 2 year old and 4 month old. We stayed here for 3 nights. We stayed in "Number 1" in the Courtyard Helsby. Beautiful and very comfortable cottage. Plenty of room with all mod cons, perfect for a family with young kids. Great base to explore the Cheshire area. Close to Chester city and Chester zoo. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I and our 13 year old daughter really enjoyed our stay at No. 1. The location is good, we had some smashing days out - Chester (with its cathedral, walls and lovely shopping areas, tea rooms and restaurants), Speke Hall (absolutely beautiful), Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry, Chester Zoo, Cinema, ten pin bowling (yes we had a couple of rainy days!), etc. No 1 was a lovely base to come "home" to each day. We didn't cook other than to make scrambled eggs for breakfast, but there seemed to be everything there that would be needed, that was just our choice. The beds were comfy which is always vital as far as we're concerned, and the place was homely, warm and very nicely decorated. We've had a few cottage holidays now and think this was the nicest cottage so far. Couldn't fault it except to say - please could you put a clock in the living room?!! We never knew what the time was!

Just got back from a 3 night stay at The Stables in the Helsby Courtyard and it was wonderful! The cottage is beautiful, so clean and so tastefully decorated. Immediately felt at home! The location is also fantastic and its literally a few minutes walk to the train station. Roger and Jill are great hosts and made us feel very welcome. Will definately stay again when we return to visit family in the area.

We booked No1, the Stables and the Carriage barn for a large group of family and friends over 2 nights. We stayed Thursday - Saturday, having had our wedding and reception locally on the Friday.

The cottages are fantastic, none of us wanted to leave and we will definitely be back. Jill and Roger made us feel very welcome, from booking online (I'd made a bit of a hash of the booking forms, thankfully Jill called me to talk through exactly what we needed), to arranging an early check in for one of the cottages, to checking in itself with a full tour of the properties and a lovely chat with Roger and during when Jill popped over with the key for the Frodsham cottage ( booked for the wedding night) and stayed for a lovely wedding morning natter. So welcome we invited them to our wedding reception!

We'll definitely be back, once we've decided which cottage was our favourite.

Can't think of a fault with any of the cottages we booked.

Room Tip: They are all fab!!!

Thanks very much for your fantastic review. We were delighted to help you both as it was a local wedding and so glad that you all enjoyed the cottages. It was our pleasure to make your occasion so special and were thrilled to be invited to your reception too! That was such a great evening and totally unexpected.
