Steven and Emma you are an awesome couple, really nice historical guest house. Great breakfast with nice view. I will be back, I need to spend more time in the tea garden and try out the unique pool, with a beer in hand. Thank you again, and the cottage is absolutely amazing, such history, WOW.

Room Tip: Amazing Cottage, historical place.

After traveling from Cape Town and our last stop on a three week road trip, we stayed for five nights and from start to finish it was a wonderful experience - all thanks to Steve and Emma (our hosts) and the delights of Bathurst.
Our accommodation was excellent as we stayed in the delightfully styled thatched Rondaval. It was fantastic with lots of character and all amenities you could wish for, especially in the en-suite bathroom. The pool and gardens were outstanding and greeted us with a breathtaking view each morning as the sun rose and the pool taking my breath away (well it was winter!). Our own cosy get away for us to relax in after a full on day of activities.
Our hosts were amazingly hospitable, providing us with hearty breakfasts each morning and lunches on request. Even better, was their intimate knowledge of the local area, which meant they gave us lots of insider information on the Eastern Cape and allowed us to fully utilise our time there. They even showed us why Bathurst is the centre of the universe by taking us to the 'Pig and Whistle' for steak night. They could not have made us feel any more welcome in their picturesque, historical accommodation. We can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: The Rondaval is a delight!

My husband and I stayed in the Rondavel at Morley house during the Grahamstown Festival and had a lovely time. The property is stunning, we particularly loved looking out over the grounds while we had our breakfast in the tea room or on the little deck every morning. Steve and Emma couldn't be lovelier hosts, I would recommend their property to anyone.

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at Morley House for a weekend. We stayed in the Safari tent, but it had all the amenities we could ask for. Steve and Emma provided us with extra blankets and hot water bottles every evening, which was more than sufficient to keep out the winter chills. Beds were warm and comfortable. Light are provided by Battery powered LED lights. The bathroom is a few meters away which requires a quick run especially on a cold winter's morning. Special mention of all the books available for browsing and buying (it's a book lovers delight and you are sure to find a few gems at giveaway prices). Can definitely recommend Morley house as a stay-over both from a facilities point of view, but more importantly from a host point of view. Steve and Emma goes out of their way to make your stay wonderful!

We stayed one night at Morley house on our way from Johannesburg to Cape Town. Friendly, welcoming hosts and a great breakfast. Morley House is set just on the edge of the village of Bathurst (a real gem of a place) and is peaceful and quiet despite being close to the road. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here and if ever in the area again would definitely return. Thank you Steve and Emma for your hospitality.
