“The place to go for an excellent, authentic German experience.”
Reviewed May 24, 2012 via mobile

We have eaten at dozens of German restaurants but we continue to frequent Bit Stuben. I have tried at least half the menu and have never been disappointed.

The french onion soup is a great starter and the salads are well balanced. Their steak and pork dishes are hearty and delicious.

It's a great atmosphere and the interior, especially upstairs, is elegant and charming. Great for a date or even a larger group; they're very accommodating to English speakers.

“The right place in Bitburg”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

I have traveled to Bitburg for many years on business and have never had a problem finding good food. After checking into my hotel I generally walk the fussganger zone to the end where one finds the Bit-Stuben, the right place for food in Bitburg. This is a combination German Cafe', Restaurant, and Bierstube. The bar area downstairs is for smokers, very cozy "old German" decorated, and has a wonderful atmosphere of friendlyness hard to find in some German cities, even if you are a native English speaker with little German. Upstairs is no smoking, and more typical of a Cafe', but still plesantly decorated with antiques, and very inviting. Afternoons we have enjoyed "Kaffee und Kuchen", tea and cakes, all made in-house, and from up there you can watch the world move by out the windows on Bitburg. The kitchen is specialized on good Eifel dishes, all that we have had were loaded with lots of fresh products, and with harty portons. Bring an appatite with you. The menu offers a wide selection, and everyone should be able to find something to suit their taste. Schnitzel with sauce and fries can't be beat. Of course this is a great place to get your Bitburger Beer.

“Slow cheap food”
Reviewed March 26, 2012

We went there not very hungry, so we asked for a salad and a potato soup. It came about 45 mins after. It was good quality food, and it was cheap, but service/kitchen is not the fastest. Go there if you have time to lose :)

“Good German restaurant”
Reviewed September 20, 2011

We were there with 18 people for dinner and got a long table together on the first floor of the nice restaurant in the center of the town. The German/Eifel food choice was more than sufficient and the food very good, incl wild things (deer, recommended!), The prices were also adequate. It did take quite a long time before we get the food (3/4 hours), also a while before we found a parking lot, but there was a big parking space nearby (200m, 3 hrs free parking).

“Family Atmosphere”
Reviewed May 31, 2011

The second floor is the place to be. It has actual antiques that you can sit in. If you are a small group, sitting by the window and watching the world go by is a great thing to do. Downstairs is more of a pub atmosphere. The food is good and is known for being the place of the "chicken man." It was renovated a few years ago and is now a landmark in Bitburg.
