We visited Treasure Cay Marina a total of 3 times staying for a total of 16 days over a two month period. Couldn't have been happier. The marina facilities are great (bathrooms could use a spruce up) The stay especially at the beach bar and the restaurant was great. The Spinnaker restaurant was a little gem. Looking from the dock side it is a little deceiving. All you see are plastic chairs and tables but that isn't the restaurant. The main entrance is around the side. It is a very pleasant atmosphere. The staff were great and worked as a team the whole time. The Resort General Manager was always around helping things flow.

Trying to keep this review on Treasure Cay hotel and property. Yes the beach and overall area of the entire Treasure Cay area are great but this particular property is lacking in may ways. I'll start with the good: great staff, good location, rooms (deluxe suite) is roomy, rooms are kept very clean and the view of the marina is good. The bad: the condition of the room and the property is very poor. Other reviews have mentioned the lack of updates and that's definately true but I don't really care if the furniture is old as long as it's comfortable (it is). However the lack of basic maintenance is an issue. The back door leaked during rain, the bathroom ceiling leaked in the rain and parts of the ceiling fell onto the county, the phone didn't work, the exterior paint/roofing and boarded up windows just brings down the overall beauty of the area. Luckily the other homes/resorts and the beach make up for the lack of maintenance for this hotel. If you can use a timeshare week, I would suggest going. The area outside of your room is worth seeing. However, if you are paying per night, there are better options. I wish the owner would put a little effort into this property because just a little effort/repair could make this place so much better. If you include the area outside this hotel, the review would be at least 3 or 4 stars.

Let me start by saying we have traveled to Mexico 5 times and the Bahamas twice (Freeport and Abaco), Ft. LAuderdale, New York, Vail, LA and numerous other locations. We are not travel snobs so we do not require the best hotels and the best service. We search out great values at relaxing locations that are serviced by honest people. Treasure Cay Beach, Marina & Golf Resort was all of that and more. The hotel is a 3 star so don't go expecting more. It has its flaws but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The two biggest issues were the lights would sometimes require a few flips of the switch and the rear door had some bad seals that would allow a few flies in when we cooked meats in the full sized kitchen. Beds were comfortable, the condo was spacious and its location on the property (next to the boat docks and a 1/4 mile from the best beach I've ever walked on) was perfect. The food on the property was incredible and priced about the same as that found in your average US City ($35 for lobster and $28 for an 8 oz filet at the upscale Spinnaker, $14 for lunch at the bar on the beach). We rented a boat for the day and explored Green Turtle Cay and the waters surrounding it. Fair pricing for the boat ($180 for a 24 footer). It was easy to operate and can be done so without a personal captain ($120 for the day) if you are at all comfortable behind the wheel. My wife and I look forward to a return trip in the future as this was by far the most beautiful vacation spot we have visited at the time of writing this reptrt.

Room Tip: All the rooms are located in the same area by the marina.

First of all, everything in the Bahamas is a little pricey, but the location is SOooo worth it!
The resort is a 10 minute $30 transfer from TCB airport (1 hr flight on a little turboprop from FLL). Customs and check in was easy and pleasant. Adjacent to resort are banking, grocery, liquor, bakery, ice, water, bait, and a nice marina. There is a fine dining restaurant on site, an open air bar, and a beach bar and restaurant across the street. Many boaters stop off here to provision.
PS: Get a delicious coffee and a Monster cinnamon roll at the bakery for your breakfast! Yum!
Our room was clean, comfortable, basic, but a little long in the tooth. No problem b/c we were only there long enough to sleep.
The beach is so pretty, the turquoise blue water so bright that the underneath sides of the birds and clouds are turquoise also! The sand is powdery soft. We found that the time slipped by very quickly.
In all, a relaxing quiet location, well worth
visiting!

National Geog. rated this beach as one of the world's best, & I agree! Clear water allows viewing of marine life from beach or boat w/out snorkel gear; pure white, cold sand makes for great walking; minimal people around even during spring break. This resort offers a golf course, a marina w/ many rental & fishing trip options, 2 restaurants, 2 markets, golf cart and bike rentals on site.Beach has kayaks, hobie cats. But never had to share space w/ more than 8 people at one time.(except for Pizza Night.) Recommend renting a golf cart or bike for island travel, and motor or sail boat may be done from marina by day or week. The hotel rooms are dated in 80's beach decor. This resort is currently for sale, and a new owner could make it fabulous. There are only a row of villas (the "hotel" rooms), so most people at resort own condos year round, and have their boat docked outside their home. Exploring other islands by boat is easily done, and great for teenagers & families, making every day a new adventure. I could NEVER get tired of these islands, and we were comfortable w/ this resort, although the loft bedroom does not allow privacy from anyone on LRoom sofa bed; Plan to rent an additional bedroom downstairs to have more privacy, as we booked rooms here for Xmas 2012 after our second day here. Pricing is high due to island depending on imported goods. Pack essentials from home, use market & kitchen to reduce costs. Wish more restaurants were golf cart distance, but all food good on resort. Excellent bakery on site run by local family. Bar and activity when you want it, quiet when you don't want to hear it. Pizza night, movie night, yoga classes give resort a community feel. No humidity, so easy to bike and exercise in these temps. Stayed here for 9 days; could easily retire here.=)

Room Tip: Bedroom upstairs is loft onto living room, so no door or privacy. Lots of stairs. Lower level room i...

My husband and I went to Treasure Cay with my brother and sister in law for a week the end of April. We are a member of Global Vacations. We stayed in the 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath condo. It was clean, somewhat updated. The upstairs bedroom is a loft, so there is no privacy. It was very nice though, with a vaulted ceiling, could use a ceiling fan. The downstairs bedroom smelled musty and had large cracks on the ceiling and the bathtub must have water damage underneath it, was very soft. The view was lovely, overlooking the marina which was busy all day. The beach was the most beautiful beach we have ever seen, the remarkable shades of aqua blue are truly unbelievable! The cocoa beach bar was nice for a burger or beer. The pool was freshwater and hardly ever busy at all. Tipsy Seagull was not open during the day. It should be open all day with music, they might get more business. They need to replace all of the lounge chairs at the pool. We counted 3 new ones. My brother sat on one and fell thru the fabric when it ripped. All were dry rotted.

The sticky buns at Florence's were very fresh the first 2 days we got them. VERY GOOD !! The rest of the week, they were hard and dry. Housekeeping was wonderful and the ladies did a super job at cleaning our condo and replenishing our towels. Beach towels are available at the front desk every day too. There is a convenience store and grocery store on the property, and a very nice jewelry store next to the marina office, although the lady in there when we were shopping was not at all friendly. We ate at Spinnakers one night, it was ok. We think they cater to the boaters using the marina.

We rented a boat from JIC Boat rentals right on the property for 2 days and went to 3 different islands which was the highlight of our vacation. Highly reccomend doing that. Hopetown Lodge on Elbow Cay was very nice. Must stop at Man-O-War sail shop in the harbour and buy some of their lovely canvas bags. Every size, shape and color you can think of and the ladies sewing are very nice too!! The harbour is so clean, you can go right thru from one end to the other. Nippers on Guana Cay had a beautiful view of the ocean, VERY strong drinks. Pirate's Cove right near Nippers public docking is a quaint Tiki Bar, but watch the no-see-ums. Everyone but me, got their ankles bit badly! The ribs are fantastic there.

We ate at Treasure Sands Club, just outside the Treasure Cay entrance. Very pricey, but not busy at all. The restaurant and pool are there, hotel to be built in the future. Grouper was the best my husband ever had. Salad greens were horrible. Go for the grouper and mashed potatoes. Mangoes in Marsh Harbour has a rum drink with 7 different kinds of rum in it and a splash of mango juice. Excellent drink and very strong. You can't even taste the rum! Secret recipe from the bartender, gotta go there. The food was great, ribs were so good, we had a great time, very nice people, The chef even came out and said hello, very nice. Marsh Harbour is very nice to walk around and shop and eat, right on the water. Skip going to Snappa's in Marsh Harbour. They don't care if you are there or not. Food, drinks and service were horrible.

Room Tip: For a couple, go for the one bedroom loft with a full kitchen, you'll love it.

Had a basic room. It was facing the marina which was nice. The room was clean, but dated. Things seemed to be rusting, old bathroom fixtures etc. The location is great and the resort has everything that you need. Treasure Cay is a beautiful place to visit but I'm not sure I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Marina view is great!
