Los Almendros de Ocotal was my first experience of tropical paradise, and it left me wanting to come back. The convenience in location and the total relaxed feel I had was awesome. For the first time I snorkeled the warm waters of the Pacific and the clarity of the blue green waters. The staff at Los Almendros was very helpful in guiding me in the right direction with care in mind. I am a photographer and did some underwater photography for the first time, I am wanting more! Great trip, great people, paradise!

Need a escape from the cold?

If you are looking for a safe, family oriented and at the same time romantic spot, consider Los Almendros.

You will be delighted with the beach front locations, 2 different pool sites, walking distance restaurants and the friendly atmosphere.

This location is conveniently located where you can visit Coco downtown and experience the entire convenience available (drugstore, grocery store, local and international cuisine).

I hope you choose this location and you'll understand how it could easily become your second home.

Condo #41 has the most spectacular views ñve ever seen! Stefani and Nino at the office are extremely helpful in making all arrangements, the beach is right down the hill, the sound of the surf and the sunsets are unreal, Swiss Travel took us to so many wonders. We plan to return and stay at the same condo...we highly recommend it...it{s perfect for a couple or a small family.

Growing up in Hawaii led to a decades-long quest for the best beach in the world, and Playa Ocotal is now at the top of the list. This is a squeaky-clean, black and white sand beach with an abundance of tidal pools and offshore marine life, complemented by a sea cave and a blow-hole, all within its span of 500 meters. Snorkel in crystal-clear water around the rocks at either end of the beach and you will be rewarded and surprised every single day. This was a secluded, quiet get-away for us that will never be forgotten.

The accomodations at Los Almendros are superb. It is an impeccably clean, safe, guarded community consisting of 43 widely-spaced, completely furnished units. The competent office staff is multi-lingual, more than willing to help with any question or request, and you will find that they really become your trusted friends after a few emails, even before you arrive. They are not faking it--that is how they truely feel. The pictures you see online do not do justice to this place. As of May, 2009, the commercial marketers and hawkers had not feasted on Los Almentros. I hope they never do.

If you´re looking for an active night life, there is one restaurant near the beach, but many others are close--a ten minute, $5 taxi ride to Coco.

After three weeks, we are sad to leave.

Los Almendros, located on a secluded beach, is a true paradise. Wake up each morning to the sound of the waves dashing against the shoreline, feel the sea breezes blowing in off the bay, and view the fishing boats moored just off the sandy beach. Now that’s paradise! The staff were knowledgeable and so helpful. I was so impressed when Lois, my fiancé, and I arrived late at night and the staff were still waiting to help us into our villa. Can you imagine turning on the light in the bedroom and finding a large heart on each side of the bed made up of flower petals and the word “bienvenidos” (welcome) down the center of the bed also in petals? The villa was spotless with vases of flowers everywhere. The staff really went out of their way to make us feel special. Los Almendros is separated from the local community by a large rocky cliff running up the mountain from the beach, but is still close so that some people walked into Coco daily for breakfast and exercise.

Los Almendros is easy to get to with just a 20- to 30-minue drive from the Liberia international airport. The paved road to Liberia, a city of a reasonable size, is well maintained..

Lois and I would highly recommend Los Almendros. The staff and the location are fabulous!
