We spent a week in a rental house on the Northwest coast of Costa Rica with our grown children. Donna, who owns Sabores del Paraiso, made our vacation. She is a fabulously talented chef who made exquisite three course feasts based on locally available ingredients in our kitchen. She tailored meals to some of our challenged dietary requirements, working with us on the menus. Her meals were all on a caliber I would compare to the best San Francisco restaurants we are used to. Plus, she is a truly warm, serene person - originally from Hawaii with a real Aloha spirit. We stopped going out for dinner. Nothing compared. It's not exaggerating to say she made our vacation.
