We have just returned from this beautiful villa after two weeks of bliss. The gated swimming pool was ideal for the children and the huge terrace had the most wonderful views of various white pueblos and the majestic mount maroma.
It was a great base to explore Andaliucia and my husband and son, both keen cyclists, brought their bicycles and put many miles in on the many routes of the Almijarra .
We had some excellent meals out in Competa, which is about 20-30 mins easy stroll (very dark on the way back - bring a torch, no light pollution here!), but we also made good use of the bbq and the well-equipped kitchen.
The villa itself was very clean, spacious, all on one level and ideal for our needs. The owners were very quick to respond to our questions and helpful in giving us ideas for local walks.
We've already booked again for next year.

Terraza de Oliva didn't disappoint. We wanted a base within walking distance of the town centre but with the feeling of peace and space.
The terrace and the pool were the highlights for us but we really couldn't fault anything. The casita was bigger than we expected and at the opposite end of the grounds to the pool so my mother-in-law had her own privacy and was able to have a quiet lie-in whilst the kids were already splashing about in the pool at 8am!
The TV had Sky movies (and Sky sports to my husband's delight), which came in handy when we wanted to keep our youngest daughter out of the sun a bit.
We ate at the house most nights - the kitchen had everything we needed and there was a decent bbq too. We went to El Pilon (just above the car park square) for our last night meal and would definitely recommend it.
Competa has every amenity for a white pueblo and everywhere we went there were gorgeous views. We've never been to inland Spain before and really enjoyed it. We walked to Canillas de Albaida one morning before it got too hot, which took about 2hrs or so. Stunning scenery and a nice easy route without too many complaints from the kids.
It was still only 20mins to the coast and another 10 mins into Nerja where we visited the caves and the Balcon de Europa. A week just wasn't long enough to fully explore this beautiful area. Would definitely recommend.
Spent a week in this lovely villa on outskirts of Competa. The villa is beautiful with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Everything is immaculate within the villa and outside area. The bedrooms are well equipped with plenty of storage. Internally each room looks and feels welcoming and comfortable. Lovely soft furnishings add a luxury feel. The owners have obviously taken time and care decorating their home with love. It feels like a home. Outside has all you need to enjoy Al fresco dining on the large terrace area. I thought the pool area being gated from terrace so safe for young families was particularly good. Inside the villa there is everything you can possibly need to make your stay perfect. Competa is a bustling little town with numerous restaurants
serving yummy Spanish cuisine.
We will return next year it's well worth a visit. Overall such good value especially given the standard of the villa
