Our 1st choice for accommodation was booked so we had to look elsewhere, and, this hotel had very good prices. We did not reserve but drove up and inquired. The staff member guaranteed we would get the best discount price available and ensured we did. He offered us a room in the annex and 1 in the old building. The price difference was substantial so we took the older building room which was fine. The shower was very tiny so if you are overweight then take a new room.
We were in 428 and had a good view of the ocean.
We toured the Valley of the temples in the afternoon, and returned for showers and took advantage of the free night bus tour of the temples that comes if you book a dinner with them.
Our dinners were quite good, very tasty and we were quite happy and the tour guide, one of the staff was very helpful and pleasant. In fact they all were.
I'd highly recommend this place and would stay again.
Beds were a bit hard though.

Room Tip: We had 428, which was nice with a pleasant view and small balcony.

We stayed here for three nights and were impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Our room was in the part finished annex and the fittings were modern and comfortable, with a very large bed.

The only negative about the room was the thinness of the walls, though we clearly had a very insensitive couple next door the first night.

Breakfast were fine and staff attention excellent. We had one dinner which was good, though the evening menu was a little unimaginative. A bonus was the free trip to see the valley of the temples at night - stunning.

It was easy to walk to the beach and the restaurants there - see review of Trattoria Il Pescatore.

We stayed here for 3 nights to view the local area, hotel was clean and staff were more than helpful, our room was always made up and plenty of fresh towels. The food was of top quality and wine was superb. The pool looked inviting but it rained while we were there so didn't get a chance for a dip. Fabio one of the hotel staff was very polite and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for him to assist. We would come back if we visited that area again, as it was a short walk to bars and restaurants but not on top of it. We would recommend this hotel to all types of travellers as they cater for everybody.

Room Tip: A room with a balcony

A perfect stop over for visiting the Valle dei Templi. Simple but reasonably equipped, spacious room, excellent dinner (delicious home made pasta and cannoli), and good breakfast. Very friendly family staff and a great value half board deal. A pool in season, locked car park and easy access to the temples plus a walk to the sea make this a perfect short stay experience. Had our 8 year old stayed awake we would have enjoyed the night tour of the valley as well! Gift of a bottle of wine completed the enjoyable experience!

The hotel was very new. Staff very helpful and welcoming, excellent location within walking distance to the sea. The room was nice, clean and comfortable and in my opinion much better in person than on the website. Good breakfast.

We arrived with a prepaid room at 3:30pm to find out that our room, was not even close to ready! they offered us a room in their new building, which is more modern and still under construction. Still, on the internet they offered me a deluxe if I paid right away. I did, but upon arrival that room was not ready and they wanted to give me a smaller and lower quality one. I did not accept and told them that we would go for a walk along to the beach and I would return later. When we arrived, the room was ready, but upon opening the door the radiator next to the door started to shoot brown water all over the floor, wall, door and my white jacket. Needless to say the came to help but my jacket now is completely ruined. I would not returned, they did not seem to care much about us since we went out of season and not too many places were opened.

After driving around, and discovering a lot of other local reviews were false and paid for, we settled on a place with integrity. We couldn't be happier that we did. The accommodations are simple, but comfortable, clean, and very fairly priced. The location is an old residential district that is walking distance from a beach, which sometimes even has surf-able waves! The rooms are very spacious for Italy.

Now onto the food...it doesn't look like a fancy restaurant and the food takes a while, but that is since everything is hand made to perfection. Order a drink or two while you wait, and ideally pair it with the antipasti (they have the best bar selection I've seen in Italy, and even feature many locally made liquors and wines). We had the fish of the day, the minestrone (con pasta), the smoked salmon risotto (good lord that was tasty, and I would know since I live in Seattle), and various sides.

The family that owns the place is incredibly friendly. They have two adorable children, their nephew has stellar advice about places to visit, the owner's brother is the chef, his wife is a doll, and the owner speaks English well (just in case). This is the perfect starting point to adventure to the Valley of the Temples, the Turkish Steps, and many epic beaches/mountains. We also made a day trip to Taormina (about 2.5 hours away, but probably the most beautiful drive you'll ever have). We has planned to stay in Taormina, but we loved Hotel Costazzurra and ended up driving all the way back because we WANTED the family to have our money. That says a lot. Plus, the prices are so reasonable that you'll actually have money to spend!
