We noticed this typical Cretan taverna on our return from Spinalonga. It smelled really delicious or maybe we were really hungry but we decided to eat lunch here. The owner was very welcoming and we were seated in a very charming room overlooking the road which had some sea views.
We ordered a bunch of Cretan appetizers because we wanted a light lunch. We ate meze style and really enjoyed everything.
The zucchini flowers filled with rice were bland for us and we have eaten them before in Crete so that was a miss. The Greek salad was not very fresh tasting -- perhaps, a day old ingredients. Again, minor miss. The stuffed mushrooms and tzaziki were absolutely fantastic. The Greek meatballs were all right. The glass of white wine was perfectly chilled and really good. The complimentary chocolate cake was devoured by our children so it must have been good. The iced coffee was one of the best I have had. Overall, I would go there again to try some different dishes.
We really enjoyed our meal there and will have fond memories of that place. Everything was served on time and with a smile.
