We were walking around the village and not a breathing soul was in sight but our host pointed us to this boat restaurant. The sunset over the river was great while we enjoyed the good food served. Everything was great and very tasty. Beautiful location!

We had a Sunday lunch here for the simple reason it was on a boat on the Loire. Do something different. We were the first customers and were warmly greeted in both French and English. It may not be fine dining but it does provide a respectable lunch of 3 courses, a recommended and recommendable aperitif, and a reasonable wine list. As it gradually filled up it was clear the clientelle were both tourists and locals, always a good sign. The service was attentive, neither fast nor slow and the result was a most pleasant experience. Have the fish, the chef kno*ws how to cook.

What a location on the Loire for a Restaurant. Sit out on the front, sharp end of the moored up boat, enjoy the view as the sun sets along the River Loire over the Castle at Montsoreau a few KM's east of Saumer.
Wonderful simple food, bit of meat and a bit of fish, specialite 'Fouee' and Produits de Terroir, attentive owner staff who know their wines, well priced, well we thought the wine was a tad expensive but the set price menus were fine and we went there twice.....enough recommendation ??

We went here having found the village restaurant closed as there was no other short notice alternative. It's like Fawlty Towers on a boat - rubbish food, poor tables/decor, beer served in cand and quite a strange experience with the hosts. Avoid this place.

My parents and I enjoyed a fun dinner here. I speak fairly good French but hadn't had this type of food before and thus I didn't have the vocabulary either! The owners were very kind and funny in helping us figure out the menu. The fouees were yummy! I hadn't tried that type of French food before and found it delicious. It was all homemade on site and the hot bread was divine. Dessert was also very good as was the locally made triple sec digestif.
