My partner and I stayed for one week in the Orangeraie. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility of this idyllic place and we will definitely be returning next year. The cottage was clean and comfortable and well equipped with everything finished to a very high standard. The cottage is situated on a hillside surrounded by orange and olive trees with stunning views into the valley below near to the town of Le Bar-Sur-Loup a real piece of heaven. It is ideally located to take day trips out to the coast including Nice and Cannes or our absolute favourite the old town of Antibes. The owners were extremely helpful and assisted us with local information including best resteraunts and bakeries. Unlike other locations the owners Cath and Gilbert were not at all pushy they kept their distance leaving us to relax in total privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful place and as I mentioned earlier will be returning next year.
Quite possibly the most adorable little cottage I've ever stayed in. Completely detached and secluded, so perfect for quiet reflection, writing, or any creative activity. There is a lovely view over the valley with the scent of lemons and oranges permeating the air, and the sound of crickets (?) providing the background music. Great spot, easy access to Grasse/Antibes/Nice/Cannes. We'll definitely return. Lovely hosts, too, both English and French spoken, couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Thank you!
My partner and I stayed at L'Orangeraie in late August/ early September and had a fabulous time. The owners Cathy and Gilbert are lovely, and on hand next door to assist with any issues (not that there were any!). The accommodation is really spacious, with a comfortable bed, powerful shower and extras that you wouldn't expect, such as a dishwasher, wifi and English TV if wanted!
The outside space is exceptional. A large sunbathing area with loungers, table, chairs and BBQ, and a gorgeous dipping pool which is just perfect for cooling off in! There is thoughtful, pretty planting in borders and jasmine and grape vines providing shade. The planting attracts lots of butterflies, and we were offered access beyond our 'garden gate' on to the owners land to collect plums, which were very tasty, and to catch the last of the evening sun when our garden was in shade.
I would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone who wants relaxation and privacy in a beautiful and tranquil location. The area is gorgeous, and L'Orangeraie is well placed for day trips to many varied coastal and inland areas.
We have been to L'Orangeraie 3 years in a row and simply adore it there! The villa is comfortable, clean and always fragranced by the beautiful scents of the flora on the hills below. The view over the orange and lemon groves is truly beautiful as the sun sets, the ciccadas sing and the bbq is fired up! The villa has everything you need to cook up some gorgeous meals using the local fresh produce, and if you feel like treating yourself then the local restaurant 'Le Donjon' is simply exquisite and only 10mins walk away. The owners of L'Orangeraie, Cathy and Gilbert, are kind, welcoming, generous and friendly hosts who never intrude but always ready to help should you need anything. We cannot speak highly enough of this pretty little villa and the many happy memories of our time there and in the surrounding villages.
A stunning hillside retreat with views to die for. Cathy and Gilbert, the friendly accommodating hosts live just next door and the houses are within a large garden of beautiful trees and plants including an olive grove. The cottage is very well equipped with a lovely terrace to enjoy the long warm evenings and a plunge pool which was fabulous. It is located on the edge of a pretty village with shops bars and restaurants, and the surrounding area has plenty to do for those who enjoy walking, river activities and sports such as paragliding. 2 days was not long enough. We will definitely be returning!
A peaceful retreat in the wonderfully picturesque but "lived in" village of Le bar sur Loup in Provence. Great hospitality from the hosts an English and French couple who cultivate their land with fruit and vegetables and have a great knowledge of the region. Secluded peaceful terrace with dipping pool serenaded by the scent of lavender and buddleia a favourite of butterflies. Within easy reach either by car or bus from Antibes Cannes Nice and Grasse as well as the many picturesque hilltop villages of the area. Several local eateries recommended.was able to listen to the cricket via wifi with relaxing glass of Rose wine in hand
We have just returned from a week stay at the cottage and it was fabulous. We booked at short notice with Booking.com and the price for the week was extremely good value. The cottage is in a beautiful setting with everything that you need for a home from home. And its perfectly located for visits to busier areas should you wish. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and had a wonderfully relaxing time.Catherine & Gilbert are very welcoming and the small village was very friendly. We only wish the weather was a little warmer so we could of used the dipping pool!
