This restaurant is highly rated by many friends so I can only assume we hit them on an off day.. we went for Sunday lunch after a walk, and sat for over an hour waiting for a starter.. and they weren't even that busy.. the icing on the cake was that we had to wait another 30 minutes for the kids to have their icecream! We will go back as the food itself was fine, but we ended up frozen outside on a rainy day due to the wait.

Having lived in the south of France for more than 9 years now has helped discover, learn, value and distinguish good and bad southern French food. The Ecole des Filles offers excellent southern French food! I know this place for many years, and have eaten there countless times. And will continue to go.

All ingredients are fresh, according to season/availability and from local/regional produce. Their menu changes regularly, i.e. every few days you will be positively surprised. This place is not cheap, but value for money is really great. It is not overpriced for what you get (of course you need to understand sthg about good food). However, as I do not drink much alcohol, I cannot comment/judge on their wine card.

Meat and fish are cooked perfectly tender, vegetables and fruits are prepared in all kinds of ways you can imagine. Salads are fresh, crunchy and colorful, and seasoned tastefully with regional olive oils. Cheeses come from small farms located in the mountains around (worth a visit). If my stomach could manage, then I would take 2 desserts myself. For every course the same fact applies: you can taste every ingredient.

Staff is friendly, attentive, and can communicate well in English if necessary. Little gadgets and decorations here and there enhance the love for detail outside of the kitchen. Even though the terrace is right next to the main road of the village, it is still well protected by trees and bushes, which add to the coziness-factor, especially on a warm summer night.

Reserve! The Ecole des Filles is usually fully booked, especially during summer. And if you need to wait a few days before you get a table: do it. It is well worth it.

I was amazed that the food was such high class in this restaurant as it's not what you expect from the cute decor. It's a real gastronomic feast and I really liked the candies at the end, as you would expect for kids in a school. I really recommend to eat here. You won't regret it.

This is the 2nd time I have been to the restaurant.
The service is excellent, relaxed, and friendly.
The decor is a converted school, without the kids.....(i.e. calm).
The food is worth a "star".
The quality, presentation and taste is exceptional.
Definitely worth a lunch or evening meal.
