“A river tour of the Dordogne's chateaus”
Reviewed July 23, 2013 via mobile

We did the 14km canoe down the Dordogne with our two young children. The company drives you up the river and you then canoe back to where the bus picks you up. The cost was 36 euros for the 4 of us. It was beautiful to see all the chateaus from the river and well worth the journey. The company was very efficient. We left right at the scheduled time, the equipment was good, and most of the staff speak some English.

“Good service and excellent value”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

We paddled the Dordogne a few years ago, and having enjoyed it (with a Beynac-based operator) felt that we wanted to repeat the experience.
We were attracted to this particular company this year initially because they are cheap ! Their eqipment is not the newest or smartest, but is perfectly adequate, and the reception was cheerful and helpful. We thought that advancing years might mean that the 14 km option was within our limits, and so much enjoyed it that a couple of days later we went for the full 28 kms. Both trips were delightful.
There are obvious advantages in using a company that have parking on-site, and run you and the equipment by minibus to put in further upstream: you can then take your time, picnic by the river, stop off at the numerous riverside cafes and snack bars, without having to rendez-vous at a specific time and place to get a lift back to the start, but instead simply paddle back to their base (and your car !)
We found that Canoe Roquegeoffre have an unexpected bonus: because their base is downstream from Beynac then for the last few kms there were very few other boats that far down the river, allowing a delightfully tranquil finish to your excursion. We'd definitely use them again.

“Nice trip and good equipment”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

The Dordogne is a treat to canoe in this area. The current does all the work and the views are amazing. We went from just above La Roque-Gageac to Les Millandes which was the perfect length for our 9 and 12 year olds. I would pick a company where you leave your car at the end of the trip. That way you don't have to wait for a shuttle to take you back to your car. This company does that which is why we picked it.

“Excellent service and trip”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

We used canoe roquegeoffre to do the 28km day trip. They were very friendly and helpful. You turn up around 9.30am and then get run up to your start point. Much better to do it this way round so you are not waiting ages for a pick up at the end of your trip. Got to be one of the most scenic canoe trips you can do - would strongly recommend both the experience and this company.

“Excellent way to see the sights”
Reviewed September 13, 2012 via mobile

We hired canoes around 3pm after a busy day at Rocamadour. We chose to canoe 7km seeing it was quite late in the afternoon. We loaded up in the minibus and set off parking about 2km past Chateau Castelnaud which was stunning to canoe past. The river was lovely and easy to canoe along, the weather was excellent, and all in all it was a wonderful activity, and one we will repeat again in the future.
