Corvinus Castle was a pleasant surprise. It looks very impressive as you enter it from the city below. The inside gives you the impression of living in the Middle Ages. The only issue with the castle is that it has very little furnishings inside of it. Still, for being in the middle of nowhere in Romania, it is certainly a great place to visit.

We went to the castle and liked a lot the castle itself which is very well preserved and also the effort of people working there to make it interesting and entertaining. It is a shame that the castle was stripped from furniture and all things that once were inside and I think authorities should do something about it. Bring some from other museums and rebuild the atmosphere. Also they should be careful with restoration work; although it is very well preserved, some of the restoration is too modern for such a precious medieval castle. Surroundings of the castle are not very good. Most of the old houses look uninhabited and overall you can see that there is not much done by the local authorities to revive the whole area. Too bad. The castle itself it is a gem.

The castle is huge and very well preserved! It's amazing to think of the hard work involved back then to built such a wonderful castle.
Aside from the castle's arhitecture, furniture and weapons, the tourist finds here a piece of history a bit different - the machinery used to torture the thiefs and robbers back then. The machinery is very well preserved. The dummys used resembly very well to human beings - the kids under 5 should stay away from one room (at the begining of the castle) where sounds accompany the torture remakes.
Translation in English, Hungarian and German languages is available for foreign tourists. The price is fair for what one can visit here. There is an additional fee for photos. Inside the castle you can also find small souvernirs and beautiful pictures made of small stones by a local artist.

An incredible castle, located in a wonderful area. The castle is well preserved and is a remarkable monument. Is visited in large proportion to other castles. If you are in the area, is required to visit.

The Corvin's Castle has Medieval, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements, that make it unique. It looks like an castle from a storybook with a wooden bridge that crosses the river on the base of the castle, the stone towers, the interior court where nobles lived and the halls where you can imagine a dinner or a meeting ("Diet Hall" and "Knight Hall").
It's worth going on a trip there if you like old castles.
