“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2013

Not to be missed. A unique bridge. Beautiful scenery around. A nice walk in the park behind.
If you are visiting Miyajima, you should include this in the excursion. Iwakuni is just a further few stops by train from Miyajimaguchi (free with JR pass). I combined Miyajima and Iwakuni in one day trip. Quite leisurely. Wonderful experience.

“A must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

A sight that you will not want to miss if you are in Iwakuni. Spend a couple of hours after work and it is worth it. The place is well kept and lots of flowers and of course the old samurai houses. Dont miss the 100 flavour ice cream at the entrance of rhe garden afetr you cross the bridge

“Great day excursion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

Sakura was started to bloom, had apple soft ice cream at the 100 flavor ice cream shop. Went on the lift to the top of the hill to walk around Iwakuni Castle. Came back down to visit the white snake museum, Sasaki Kojiro statue and stone doll museum (Caddis fly larvae builds nests of tiny rocks around their bodies in the strong
current by the bridge). There is a little exhibit of those nests into works of art.

“Stunning bridge in fall”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

When the maples turn red this bridge becomes an incredible photo op. Easily accessed by a clearly marked bus. It is surrounded by various temples/shrines, parks, and very close to the cable care that will take you to Iwakuni Castle.

I'm sure this would be a gorgeous place to visit in all seasons.

“Beautiful at sunset”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

Visited in January at about 1700. Got there just as the sun was going down and it is spectacular when it lights up. We didn't have to pay at this time, but although the ticket booths on both sides were closed, the bridge itself doesn't seem to ever 'close' and we walked across and took pictures just the same. There was a large parking area right next to the bridge and we didn't pay for that either. Great hour stop/photo op and quick hike back and forth...
