Owner description: The longest lavatunnel i all of Europe, with more than 17 km now explored. A vulcanic tunnel that now has caused scientific interest, because of the cocroach born without eyes. An absoultely amazing experience to get a guided tour into this underground vulcanic world. Highly recommended for those who want to experience something different in this beautiful island.

“Fantastic value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012 via mobile

We had read the reviews on trip advisor and decided it would be something a bit different to the usual theme parks etc, personally I'm not usually interested in history, but found this attraction both factual and entertaining, the set up at the visitors centre was excellent and the price was fantastic, it's also something suited to all weather conditions, as we'd had a few days of rain during our stay, overall it well worth the €35 euros we paid for 2 adults and 1 x 14 year old as the tour lasted apx 2&1/2 hours, we wish them all the best for the future as they mentioned they are planning to expand there tours and facilities next year!

“Icod Caves”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

These were excellent, just got there and joined a german group or we would have had to wait and join a million kids! Quite a walk after a short drive. They said trousers and jacket but we were ok in shorts and t-shirt!

“Interesting!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

An interesting place. If you don't like closed places and the dark this isn't the place for you. However if you are a bit adventurous this is a good attraction to go to. The volcanic tube is one of the largest in Europe. The guide was excellent. Was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took good care of us. An interesting excursion with a difference.

“Awesome - Definitely worth the visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2011

I'm surprised I'm the first one writing a review for this fantastic place. It's a visit to volcanic caves with experienced tour guides that explain everything there is to know (for us amateurs) about the geology of volcanos. You walk inside caves and tunnels and the guides explain in great level of detail how eveything was formed; I think we were lucky that our tour guide is actually a geologist by profession, who has explored these caves for years. I found his explanations very clear and educational. Children enjoy the visit as everybody gets to wear their helmet and headlamp gear, which are needed because the caves are not lighted, making the trip even more exciting. You may want to call in advance to check tour times. You drive up the hill from Icod about 10 minutes to the visitor's center, and from there you board a small bus with a group to the cave. Highly recommended!
