I have stayed here a twice, once in August 2010 and April 2012, and both times have been awed by the calming and friendly atmosphere this hostel provides. From when you walk in, you are greeted by helpful and warm wardens and shown to lovely clean and comfortable rooms. It is evident that a great deal of care is taken over it's upkeep and has truly inspiring views to boot. There is onsite Wi-Fi should you need to keep in touch with the real world too. The showers were clean and powerful and the kitchens were well kept; in short, they have everything you would want to wind down and compliment a day of exploring this inspirational island. The hostelers offer kayaking, bike hire and when I last went, a new activity of jumping into the water from cliffs - tombstoning I think it's called! I was not brave enough to indulge in this but the kayaking was amazing! Chris (one of the hostel owners) was a professional chilled-out kayaking leader and the tour was fantasic! My highlight on both visits were the cute seals noseily following you around once you had distrubed them on their rock! Not to take away the unique take you get of the rest of the island's landscape; a genuinely once in a lifetime experience.
With the overall family and professionally-run feel of the hostel, if I could rate 10 starts I would! Thank you to all the staff there for making this a holiday one to remember.
