I stayed here for three nights very recently. The B&B is in an ideal location just minutes from the ferry terminal and very close to the hotels and cafe (for dinner) and to the village shops. My room was compact but very comfortable with the hospitality tray refreshed each day. The breakfast was lovely and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for 3 nights in October 2011. It is a few minutes walk from the Oban ferry terminal, and the local buses will drop you off outside the B&B if you are travelling from the airport or the Eriskay ferry. I had a double room overlooking the harbour, the room and ensuite were comfortable with a decent TV. The breakfasts were great and there is a residents' lounge with local information. The hosts were friendly but not in your face. My room was excellent value (£35 per night for single occupancy). Castlebay has a couple of hotels for drinks and meals (the Craigard has live music on Sundays). The Kisimul cafe also does a very good choice of curries and Italian dishes. Otherwise there is a good sized Coop 5-10 minutes walk away (open on Sundays) if you want to make a picnic for the beaches. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.

Just home from 3 days in Barra and would definately recommend this B&B to visitors. Location, accomodation and food all excellent. Facilities include a cosy guests lounge with books of genuine local interest. Thank you Linda for making our stay very enjoyable.

What a find! Very friendly welcome. Lovely en-suite rooms and if you get a room facing the sea so much the better. Comfortable beds tastfully decorated rooms. Fantastic breakfast. Host was interested in what you were up to but not too over bearing. A trully great b&b.

We had a very good time at Tigh-Na-Mara where we stayed for 5 nights in June.
The room with fantastic sea views onto the Castel was very clean and comfortable. Linda made all guests very welcome and her breakfast is great: it includes wonderful fresh fruit salad, delicious scottish breakfast or smoked kipper. Very nice and reasonably priced bed and breakfast, well recommended.

This is a very pleasant and friendly place to stay for a short break. I have been visiting here for weekend breaks for 4 years now . The couple who run it are very friendly. The breakfasts are very good. It is situated 2 minutes walk from the ferry terminal for the ferry from Oban. The sail from Oban is part of the of the overall experience of holidaying on Barra.
The rooms are a bit on the small side and most of them are en-suite.
There are two hotels nearbye for meals and a small restaurant near the pier. (booking is recommended). There is parking available outside the guesthouse.

Linda and Archie made us feel very much at home. The bedrooms were cozy and spotlessly clean, with superb views of the castle and beyond. The location is superb-----two minutes from the ferry terminal! Breakfasts were lovely, with lots of choice-- Linda was always there to advise on places to visit. Highly recommended for a visit to the lovely Isle of Barra!
