I was coming back from 3 Days in Chianti, and wanted a brief but good stop-by, remembering a very good lunch I had here a few years ago.
In the mean time , Capounto is not mentioned anymore in "Osterie d'Italia" SlowFood guide: never was an exclusion more unfair...
I had an excellent Tuscan cuisine ( fettunta,mushroom soup, fiorentina steak, red wine), but most of all the ATMOSPHERE is outstanding: the owner is a friendly fool who makes you feel at home.
Price is not cheap (35€), but it is well worth the food and the atmosphere.

A fabolous experience of our first taste of tuscan cuisine. We just arrived to Ginestra de Fioretina after a long drive from Chiasso. Lovely family owned restaurant with good tempered owner who makes sure you feel comfortable. At 8 euros a bottle the wine is an inexpensive super juice but not quite as juicy yet as the amazing steaks and gnochhi which we ate at this place. Lovely food, lovely people, mamma we love this place!

If you want to feel like you are at home in mamma's kitchen feasting on really good home cooked food then this is the place to come! No really! If you look through the restaurant to the kitchen there is a huge table where the grandmothers are cooking the food! You really can't get any more authentic than that!

The homemade tagliatelle with mushrooms is to die for! The meat secondi wonderful and house wine a must for an over all price that won't break the bank!

This is italian cuisine as you've only dreamed about!
