“A warm, comfortable, welcoming hotel; thanks Faye & Mike!!!!!!!”

We arrived at the Chalet after a long day of riding our motorcycles. We were welcomed by Faye in their secure garage, and then we had a long soak in their hot spa; what an unexpected pleasure!!
Our room was a perfect match of Japanese simplicity and comfort, and the walk-in shower was glorious. Located at 6300' altitude, with a perfect view of 12,000'+ Mt. Poirre(sp?), the location of Chalet Matsuzaka is idyllic. We had an opportunity to walk through the well groomed park adjacent to the hotel, and found La Rosiere a cute community.
The real highlight of our stay, however, was the creative and delicious food that Faye prepares! Whether it was the fish that melts in your mouth, the desserts with just a hint of star anise, and cardamom, or Mike's heavenly porridge in the morning; don't miss any meal at Chalet Matsuzaka!
There's really no downside to staying here, and we ABSOLUTELY will be returning soon; as we really want to try Faye's cardamom pancakes!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, but the room on the second floor with the upstairs bath is really special!

Mike and Faye are the most wonderful hosts. The food every evening without exception was fabulous. Venison, crab, lamb curry, veal, salmon, scallops to mention but a few of the dishes. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Tasty homemade cakes at tea time too!
The spa is amazing and spotlessly clean. Indoor rotembro and sauna - great for relaxing after a hard days skiing. Outdoor rotembro surrounded by alpine trees, perfectly lit, creating an extremely relaxing environment.
The bedroom is spacious and well served with a walk in shower. Good size sunny aspect balcony with great views over the mountains. The bed is possibly the most comfortable mattress that we have slept on away from home!
La Rosiere offers excellent skiing from beginners to advanced with lovely long piste.
Amy and Kate, who are part of the Matsuzaka's team, are fantastic girls who were attentive and great company for a chat or to show you the local bars.
All in all a fabulous stay - we wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend it to others!

Mike and Faye made us feel like old friends for whom nothing was too much trouble - booking, ski school, passes, taxis - all arranged with no hassle. The rooms are large and varied, but all extremely comfortable with fantastic views. La Rosiere itself has much better and more extensive skiing than reports might suggest, including off piste and opportunities to heliski from the Italian side (all on the same pass).

An absolutely fantastic place to stay for ski and rest. The hosts are an amazing couple from the UK, offering a care-free stay in a **** environment. The perfect vacation. Accessible from the slopes, ski down to the chalet and in 10min, off to the japanese bath. Only 10 rooms in this lovely chalet, so very cosy and family oriented. The perfect vacation.

We had a wonderful week in Chalet Matsuzaka at Easter this year. Great hospitality - it was like being house guests in a lovely home and was certainly far and away the best chalet we've stayed in. We were a party of 18, 4 families with our offspring - mostly starving students, rather like a plague of locusts - and we were extremely well catered for. Fabulous food and lovely wines were served up every evening and devoured with relish. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and a wallow in the Japanese Spa was the perfect way to end the day. Faye and Mike worked really hard to ensure our stay was a success , which it certainly was. They sorted out ski passes, instructors and anything else we needed, including our transfer bus. We'll definitely be back.

Chalet Matsuzaka is absolutely beautiful and by far the best chalet I've ever stayed in.

The Chalet is run by Faye & Mike, Sarah & Pete, who were all so welcoming and friendly. They gave us loads of time & space to settle in and made us feel completely relaxed.

Our room, like the rest of the chalet was stunning and so homely... just perfect. Waking up that first morning seeing the view from the chalet balcony was pretty special! The food & wine was fantastic, we were given a menu with several options to choose from for breakfast and dinner each day and the afternoon cakes in our room were way too nice not to be eaten!
The japanese spa was also beautiful, with a sauna, indoor & outdoor jacuzzi bath surrounded my snow! Great place to chill out after a days skiing & lots of wine!

The skiing was great, as we were lucky to have quite a bit of snow that week. Was just a 5 min walk to Les Euchert lifts. We especially loved the fact that we could ski all the way to the boot room door from La Papion run. The chalet's boot room was really well equipped too.

La Rosiere is a great resort is stunning and a very friendly community. There are plenty of bars in Les Eucherts & La Rosiere. There's a pretty woodland walk down into La Rosiere. If you go out for some drinks, there's a very quiet bar next to the Saint Bernard Hotel was run by a lovely man, who gave us far too many free vin chauds! (which came red, white and blue!) Also to eat out on the night off, there's lots to choose from but Genepi in La Rosiere is highly recommended! :)

We had a perfect honeymoon & will never forget the time we spent there. We will definately be going back to stay again and really looking forward to it.
