We stopped at this hotel because of the chef--known in France and the USA--but little did we expect that he would take the luggage from our car and help with everything else. Our rooms were perfect, overlooking the little bay in front of our building. The one on the first floor (L'isle de Sieck) had a wonderful balcony overlooking the sea and all the islands and the one on the second floor (leTaureau) looked out over the beach and the islands without balcony.
Each room was furnished with everything needed-a lovely bed, cable television, a coffee pot for morning and internet. A number of books in different languages (Dutch, English, German and French in our room) were on the shelves, and bottles of water or other need were in the corridor.
My husband arrived with a broken finger and the woman in charge, Christine, immediately gave him special treatment that was very beneficial. She put the finger in an herbal solution and the next morning it was much improved.
The restaurant could not have been more welcoming. Our friend, who is 90 years old, was thrilled to be there, and the 4-course meal was delicious. We enjoyed langoustines with fresh vegetables from the area, turbot with herbs, pigeon perfectly prepared and dessert.
Most of all, we were impressed by the staff, as there were other notable guests ( such as Gerard Depardieu) when we visited. The staff handled all with great discretion. Everyone, from the chef himself and the manger Christine to the chambermaid and waiter, were welcoming and ready to make our stay memorable. It certainly was and we'll go back.
