We stopped at this hotel because of the chef--known in France and the USA--but little did we expect that he would take the luggage from our car and help with everything else. Our rooms were perfect, overlooking the little bay in front of our building. The one on the first floor (L'isle de Sieck) had a wonderful balcony overlooking the sea and all the islands and the one on the second floor (leTaureau) looked out over the beach and the islands without balcony.

Each room was furnished with everything needed-a lovely bed, cable television, a coffee pot for morning and internet. A number of books in different languages (Dutch, English, German and French in our room) were on the shelves, and bottles of water or other need were in the corridor.

My husband arrived with a broken finger and the woman in charge, Christine, immediately gave him special treatment that was very beneficial. She put the finger in an herbal solution and the next morning it was much improved.

The restaurant could not have been more welcoming. Our friend, who is 90 years old, was thrilled to be there, and the 4-course meal was delicious. We enjoyed langoustines with fresh vegetables from the area, turbot with herbs, pigeon perfectly prepared and dessert.

Most of all, we were impressed by the staff, as there were other notable guests ( such as Gerard Depardieu) when we visited. The staff handled all with great discretion. Everyone, from the chef himself and the manger Christine to the chambermaid and waiter, were welcoming and ready to make our stay memorable. It certainly was and we'll go back.

Room Tip: The view from the second floor (L'Isle de Seikl) was beautiful with a balcony. The room on the t...

Spotlessly clean, comfortable and with a shared balcony with superb views of the bay. Staff wonderfully friendly and helpful. Room was a little on the small side and the hotel probably wouldn't class as a four star in the UK as it doesn't have the usual facilities you would expect but a gorgeous place to stay nonetheless.

The hotel is in a very good situation facing the bay of Carantec. Nice views. The rooms was quite Ok. I would recommend the ones in the second floor with terrace and views to the bay. Problem is there is no good WIFI connection on the rooms of the Hotel (you just get connection next to the lift). We had dinner on the 2 michellin star restaurant of the hotel. The food was excellent but the Chef and owner, Patrick Jeffrey, was really rude at our requests and had no manners. The service was not very nice except a young waiter that was working there and was very helpfull.

Room Tip: Facing the bay with terrace (Second floor)

We've stayed here on several occasions and never tire of the view over the bay of Morlaix, with its myriad of tiny islands, reminiscent of the Isles of Scilly....whatever the weather the view is absolutely fabulous. Less fabulous is the lack of English channels on the TV - even though they are all there they are not connected, also the safety instructions in the lift are in French only, as is the menu in the hotel restaurant. Not a problem if you speak French but if you don't then be sure to take a dictionary.

We did not eat in the Patrick Jeffroy restaurant - its very 'nouvelle cuisine' and we much prefer the 'Fruits de Mer' and 'cuisine traditionelle' in the Carantec port side restaurants 'Le Cabestan' and 'L'Abri du Pecheurs'. But as a hotel it is very good indeed - excellent French Breakfast, good service (although the Breakfast waitress spoke no English), tastefully decorated and very comfortable. In all, a superb base from which to explore Brittany...and with fabulous views of the beautiful Brittany coastline from every room.

Stayed here to celebrate my 50th birthday with my parents. The room was clean and tidy, but perhaps a little bit scruffy. Nice to have hot and cold beverages provided free of charge. Unfortunately we had a over bath shower rather than a proper shower (however thats out personal preference), the room also was a bit too warm for our tastes even in April. However the view from the room over the bay of Morlaix was absolutely stunning and it is lovely to be able to open the patio doors and take in the view from the verandah. If you stay at the hotel then you must eat at the restaurant. It might seem to be a little on the expensive side, but food and service is superb and worthy of its two Michelin stars. The lounge and dining room also have the same fabulous views of the bay. All in all an excellent experience. I would like to come back.

The best hotel, by far. We have been travelling round Brittany for just over a week and met our son and daughter in law to celebrate his 50th birthday. What a treat - superb hotel, wonderful views over the bay and the food was in to top 5 for quality and presentation.
All in all, execellent.

We travel from London to Bordeaux at least once a year and make a point of stopping off in
Carantec, specifically to stay at this wonderful Hotel. We've never been disappointed with
service, cleanliness or general friendliness of the team. How wonderful to be able to eat so well in such a magnificent location, overlooking the spectacular Bay of Morlaix. As long as M. Jeffroy
is in the Kitchen, this will always be a favourite place for us.

Room Tip: Since all rooms have balconies overlooking the Bay, it would be hard to choose a particular one, we...
